Top Form is a mess of missed opportunities. (hated the casting)

Top Form is a mess of missed opportunities. The series had the potential to deliver something compelling, but it ultimately falters on almost every front, leaving audiences with a flat, unsatisfying experience.

Let’s start with the glaring issue: the writing. The script does a huge disservice to both the characters and the actors, and that’s a shame because the main leads clearly have fantastic chemistry. However, that chemistry can only carry a series so far when the plot is this weak and the character development nonexistent.

The narrative is a trainwreck of inconsistency and missed chances. Serious crimes are casually brushed off, with no repercussions whatsoever. The show depicts attempted sexual assault, drugging, and even filming someone while unconscious—issues that should be handled with care, but instead are swept under the rug as if they're nothing more than plot devices to fuel cheap drama. There’s no sense of justice or accountability for these actions. The lack of real consequences leaves the show feeling tone-deaf and irresponsible, especially in a genre that can have such a profound impact on its audience.

As for the characters, they’re paper-thin. The so-called *seasoned* actor introduced in the first episode is reduced to a shell of a person, completely stripped of the confident, successful traits promised early on. Instead, his reactions to major life events (like the ones mentioned above) are completely out of place and unrealistic. His character arc doesn’t evolve—if anything, he just falls flat.

The romance, which should have been the heart of the series, is poorly executed. The buildup to the relationship is awkward, forced, and lacks any emotional weight. The show spends too much time on pointless drama and not enough on creating an authentic connection between the two leads. Even after they finally get together, their relationship doesn’t feel earned—it’s rushed, underdeveloped, and lacks the depth it needs to be compelling.

Unless the production team plans to clean up this mess in a second season (which seems unlikely), *Top Form* has absolutely no rewatch value. It’s a series that promises so much but delivers so little, leaving you questioning whether the time you spent watching was even worth it. Overall, it’s a failure in almost every sense, and definitely not worth your time if you're looking for a thoughtful, well-rounded BL experience.
