It doesn't matter who the genre is FOR. It is representing the LGBTQ+ community, and in a bad light, regardless of who writes it, and who the target audience is. It's using gay men as objects, and as a member of the LGBTQ+ community, I certainly have a right to express my disgust at how we are represented on screen. If women are going to use gay men as objects in the center of their storylines, the queer community sure has a right to express their disgust at being used in problematic ways for the delight of people who are not queer. The meaning of BL does not get to be defined by women who do not live that lifestyle. Period!

It was shown that they very much fell in love as kids, and made child actors hug in bed. It was all very cringe.…
Because I wanted to see more good representations of LGBTQ+ characters on TV. I learned quickly that this genre is not about good representation, but about feeding people's immature fantasies.

weirdo, they didnt do anything together as kids. if u think that way its ur problem
Lol, the director made an obvious parallel connection between them hugging in bed as kids with them hugging in bed as adults when they are making out later in the same episode. It's a problem for the entire BL genre with their overused tropes and questionable standards.

...and no, I never hugged my friends IN BED as a kid. And I sure wouldn't want my child acting in a scene like that if I were their parents.

I sure can pick just one scene, one line, one plot point, or even one second of a film or series to judge the entire thing by, because if it is not done well, it serves as a representation of the filmmaker's intent or they overlooked it. Every frame, every line is open for scrutiny. My larger point is we see this too often in BL series, where everyone character has to have a previous relationship with one another from a long time ago. Somehow all 3 actors, the writer, and the manager all knew each other before? What are the odds of that happening? If anything, it should be called Lazy Writer lol

I mentioned many overused tropes that are common in BLs, with Lovely Writer as just another example. It was a lamentation about the entire genre. Sure these tropes are used in hetero series, but BLs are a small minority representing a minority (LGBTQ+) so it will be under more scrutiny and has been used against our community.

They were neighbors as kids and fell in love when they grew up. What's up with that? Nothing pedo on this show.…
It was shown that they very much fell in love as kids, and made child actors hug in bed. It was all very cringe. Pedophilia in the sense of showing us adults images of children being intimate on this and other shows. It's not doing anyone any favors.
