A little theory about the ending. If we don't take into account the special ep (which was filmed when the drama…
This is what I was exactly thinking!
I've just finished the series and have yet to see the special episode - for me the ending left kinda a somber feeling, as I interpreted it similarly as you.
A'li long waited for Xiao Heng alone - yet only to be reunited in the afterlife.
I just finished. my recommendation is to drop before you invest more time and feelings into it. it's a waste of…
Wow really!? - to 'drop' is a strong recommendation as well ... I guess I'm on the fence now and shall be taking my time instead - thanks for the heads up.
My one word for the ending: Dafaqu Before starting the drama, I lowkey and accidentally saw a comment or two,…
Side comment - the only thing I don't understand is....
If it was all a dream - why was Hua Rong Zhou the only person she "made up" - whereas everyone else she knew in real life?
Was it for her to simply feel protected and feel like she has someone to rely on?
See now I'm also questioning if her maids and their story was even real?
* I must say, I did like how the incense smell was hinted throughout, and kept waiting when the importance of it was gonna be revealed - I just thought it was her being poisoned to be sick or something - but oh well
Before starting the drama, I lowkey and accidentally saw a comment or two, warning to only watch it to ep 29 - paying little mind to it - completely forgetting about it eventually.
So when it came to it - I was honestly just speechless (not in the best way) - as someone else commented below it left me feeling "what was even the point of all that".
For the first time ever - I FINALLY understood why my English teachers hated and discouraged us, to end our story with "it was all a dream" plot, when we were young at school - I finally understand the pain š
I watched the first episode and it's like comedy political thing . Can't decide if it's worth My time cz It didn't…
I've previously tried to watch this series TWICE, yet found it hard to concentrate, to even finish, and get through ep 1.
But yesterday , I finally sat down and wow... Binge watching and currently on ep 6.
I'm not sure about the action, romance or war just yet, as I feel like it's just building up on the ep I'm on, but, I would definitely encourage you to keep going...
As the more you get to learn, and understand the Queen's dilemma, situations and her relationship with her sons...
I think it's honestly the charm of this historical drama - something which I have yet to see portrayed anywhere else, and tugs on your heart
Iām really looking forward to the two special episodes. I think it will be focused on how they lived their lives…
Sorry to break it to you, but its been confirmed that the two special episode's format is literally just a Q&A :( - So sad as I wished for the same thing as you
It's like Reborn Rich kind of ending episode today dissatisfied
I haven't seen it myself, as it's currently still on my watchlist. But truthfully, after hearing similar feedback for the past few weeks , I don't even know if I still want to invest my time in watching it.
I really hope (at this point praying) QOT won't get this point ( dissatisfying current viewers or becomes off-putting to new viewers)
WTF was that! You're telling me, people actually rate PJE, as a great writer!?? If so, you have lost the plot, just like ES and this drama!
Honestly, the cast, especially the leads, were the only reason why I started to watch this show... And remains to be the ONLY reason why I'm still watching to the end, despite the frustrating and ludicrous writing at this point.
KJW & KSH carried this show on their backs!
'plot-twist' more like throwing spaghettis on the wall - did they seriously just throwing everything and anything under the sun in the last few episodes!
Such ashame since premise of the show was promising.
šļøššļø
Do I even continue at this point!?
Like wdym it became frustrating - like how bad did the writers fumble this up!!!
He only 'tripped' on the sidewalk - since his leg bruised and has swelled sooo much by then.

I have to agree with @kiie comments

Props to the writer - the twist and ending in every episode so far has been šš¼
