It is a show that irks some people. Deal with it.

I will never again watch an on-air Murder Mystery Drama weekly, the suspense is killing me. This is one of the best Murder Mysteries I have ever seen though, so no complaints.

This is a completely unrelated matter. Taking prescription drugs means he is being treated for a recognized illness, many people numb their pain with alcohol without having an underlying illness. It doesn't make it better but it has nothing to do with the problem of how his empathy is written in this Drama.

Not sure it is the same writer though.

Even if you know that (Do you? I read he liked the script), you can not know how he honestly felt about the script or film. Please don't let your own negative judgment guide you into being prejudiced about someone else's opinion.

Since I started this discussion I am well aware of all this. I have a problem with the writing choice of portraying it as an illness rather than a gift. It stigmatizes and pathologizes something that can be problematic but also doesn't have to be. This is a thing in K-Dramaland (ML who can not forget, ML who highly empathizes, ML who can read minds, ML who sees stuff), and it is starting to irk me. People who are one of these things already face a lot of problems in the world outside, we don't need Dramas to actually exacerbate the situation. They should do what they are doing right now for Introversion - elaborate, embrace and heal.

This is what the writer has written, of course he needs it in-universe. The choice to write it like that is problematic.

Yes, Nam Gil is great in TTD, no disagreement on that. ;-)

He plays a "cold male lead" character. I am just not sure you can expect him to convey his emotions and thoughts like a warm, open character might.

Yes I have seen all that and more (he is particularly radiant in Radiant Office). Of course I think your opinion is valid.

I think his acting is great. You might mix up the character he plays with the acting involved in playing this role.

As a highly sensitive person myself I am pretty offended at the notion that his hyper empathy is an illness he has to take medication for. Please K-Drama world, look some more into the current state of psychological research instead of pathologizing everything.

I think it has to do with the characters they are playing. Hae Joon is simply not used to affection being shown to him and Yoon Young once described him as 'uptight'. So it might take some time for him to open up to her.

If his son figures out the killer that would give him a clear motive, even if it's his son.

There is no proof of that. Also, he is one of the very few men whose hair, general build, feet and fitness level seems to fit the one running away in 1.12.

Whoever ends up being the killer, why is Ko Mi Sook not dead? She did witness the murder and is the only one who has seen the killer. If the ML's father is indeed the killer, and since Ko Mi Sook was in the cinema at the same screening, what if she is his secret gf and has agreed to stay silent? Which could mean she is the ML's actual mother.

There is so much chemistry between Yoon Hae Joon and Lee Ju Yeong. Maybe because the characters are kind of both alone. Maybe Hae Joon is just nice and wants to help her. But maybe the actors simply have great chemistry. I think Jung Ga Hee would have been a great FL.

This brings back memories of her (completely unfounded) marriage rumors with Kim Nam Gil.
