Hi Everyone! So I told myself I will try my best to wait for this to finish before I binge watch it straight because I just love the cast. But seems my curiosity is getting the better of me and I might just start watching very soon, but before that kindly endulge my curiosity without spoiling much How is the chemistry of the mainleads, is there a worth while romance here?
So I am years late watching such a masterpiece since I got intimidated with 63 episodes.But since its on Netflix…
I Don't know if its just me, I love the main leads and their chemistry and all but I cannot bring myself to hate the Night Immortal/Fish Fairy 1st the actor is an eye candy who acted the character flawlessly and 2nd because the writters did a great job at making sure you understand where he is coming from, I truly felf he genuinely loved Jimni. Who hasnt done crazy things for love?
So I am years late watching such a masterpiece since I got intimidated with 63 episodes. But since its on Netflix I decided to give it a go, coz why not right! LUCKILY I DID! my fave character hands down is the Moon Immortal/Uncle Honghong.
Take it from someone who's watched the original drama every year from it's released date, the Cdrama FL nailed the character to tee that it will give a slight pressure to whoever is going to do the remake, I hope they will be able to portray a bubbly likable character in the kdrama remake and transition her to the mature but still likable person she was in the original drama. The 2 brothers also had arealistic brotherly vibe that endeared the viewers that I expect to see as well. The original was 40 episodes and knowing kdrama they will compress this one so fingers crossed that it does not compromise scenes we came to love in the original.Hopefully they focus more on the family dynamics because those two dads really did an amazing job that hopefully doesnt get lost in this remake! Still I am excited for this one because I liked Hwang In Youp from True beauty.

From the perspective of someone who watched this while it was airing, I remember many felt the same way as you did. The SML is such a likable character after all and not to spoil anything he will continue to be likable till the end. But then again as you said DFQC is the lead, and Didi is just giving justice and more to the character he exudes all the angst the character needed.
Since you're only on Ep.8 I think your perspective will have a shift on Ep 9,one of the most powerful episodes that starts the connection between the 2 leads. Their chemistry will grow more on you but still like the SML for who he is meant to portray and the importance of his role
Two days ago, I was asking how this was. Got a good feedback so I decided to dive right in. Binged watch 1-17 and can say that despite this being not everyone's cup of tea because its a melodrama, I love every second of it! I have watched a fair number of both K and Cdramas but this one is just layed out to be the most realistic and natural making it very relatable. Ofcourse Seven has always been reliable in her acting and she has leveled up her intimate scenes in this drama, the ML may seem standoffish, serious at times but dang! When he's sweet, he really is sweet!how he held her in that scene where he has to take care of her was simple yet too awesome,natural, exuding masculine sweetness. I am a sucker for a guy that can smile with his eyes! Looking forward to the next episodes,although I unfortunately read spoilers!!!
Okay, so I have finally finished this and I can without a doubt say that I will have to Rewatch Home town chacha immediately just to see KSH have a happy ending
Imo He's the absolute Star of this show, I cry when he cries
I'm only on episode 4 But Kim Seon Ho is doing it again, the same thing I thought of when I watched him in Strongest Deliveryman, He is stealing the show and the hearts of the viewers. But knowing where this story is heading I know its going to head into a heart break for him. Well, he is just a charismatic actor and very good at that.
Having said that, the story is quite predictable but im still watching it because atleast the actors gives a great vibe of portraying their characters. I am a great fan of the ML, the screen loves him and is just adorable to watch despite clumsy character. The FL is growing on me, so I'm pushing forward and plan to finish this series
