Review Perfect Crown
I’ve been noticing for a long time that everyone keeps going on about “bringing back old K-dramas” every…
I appreciate your perspective, but I think you may have misread my review. At no point did I criticize this drama for being lighthearted or fun — in fact, I explicitly praised its visuals, costumes, and OST, and I highlighted the Joseon-meets-modern concept as something that genuinely caught my attention and kept me watching.

My criticism is directed at the writing: underdeveloped characters, a rushed narrative structure, and artificial suspense that substitutes for authentic storytelling. These are craft-level issues that exist independently of whether a drama is silly, fun, or serious. A lighthearted drama can absolutely be well-written — the two are not mutually exclusive.

So while I understand the broader frustration you might have with audiences that dismiss fun dramas outright, that critique simply doesn't apply here. I'd be happy to discuss the actual points in my review if you'd like.
