The first episode wasn't the best, but how Keiichi Hasegawa and Ryuta Tasaki has a horrible track record?I mean,…
a writer for ultraman (the most one-note franchise of all time) and a main director who hasn’t done anything above average in over a decade.. like I said, horrible track record. hopefully the rotating directors can at least make it look decent during their episodes, cause this first one was hideous. it’s especially glaring going from geats, which had excellent direction and choreography from jump, to this ugly oversaturated half-cgi mess. I don’t wanna hate on it, it was just very disappointing, even though my expectations were already low
judging by that abysmal first episode, and the weakness of the overall concept, I will probably be sitting out this year, at least until things receive a lot more development. the production crew also has a particularly horrible track record, and it shows IMMEDIATELY
this is kinda starting to eat hard! it took a little bit to settle in and find its stride but episode 5 was thoroughly enjoyable and then 6 was pretty fantastic. the other couples in particular have stepped up and become much more interesting than they were at the beginning, which is a huge reason as to why the show has gotten better imo
first it was romanticising pedophilia, and now an unprompted admittance that you’d rape somebody.. I bet the…
oh you’re definitely the perv 🥴 or would a 40/50something year-old man spending his long, lonely days in the comment sections of a million shows arguing about whether a bl has enough sex in it, all the while freely espousing the creepiest personal skeletons from within his glass closet, be considered normal in your world? well.. I guess it would be!
but the guy jumping off the roof is important he is most likely why kim an disappeared and why he is acting so…
it’s supposed to be important, but it really doesn’t seem to be an issue after the first couple episodes. Kim An is already smiling and getting close with Lee Hyun again after such a short time, even though he’s supposedly experienced something so traumatic. they could have come up with a million other reasons as to why he disappeared and they still probably wouldn’t matter to the story all that much, which is why a less heavy/tragic backstory would have fit the tone of the show much better.
Episode 8:Continues to be an endless, silly cock-tease of a show. More wheel-spinning, even when they brought…
first it was romanticising pedophilia, and now an unprompted admittance that you’d rape somebody.. I bet the fbi would have a field day with what’s on your hard drive 💀
the lead couple’s story is actually pretty strong on paper, and both actors are doing a good job with what they’re given, it just kinda gets bogged down by a lackluster screenplay. another production that has no idea what to do with a bigger budget and increased runtime, so it overcompensates with unnecessarily extended scenes and too many characters. you could easily cut out the other “couples” and maybe the stuff about the guy jumping off the roof (it’s really not that important and it clashes with the tone), just focus on developing the great dialogue and chemistry between the leads and the show would be perfectly fine. it’s not bad, it just makes some baffling choices
Something seems missing but maybe that's because the acting and pace is way too natural. The story is intriguing.
I totally get what you mean (if this isn’t what you meant then ignore me 🥴), from the way the story is set up and how the characters are already intertwined, it almost seems like these are people we’ve been following for at least one previous season instead of just meeting them for the first time. most of the actors also seem very comfortable in their roles, as if they’ve already played them before. it’s a confusing way to start a series and while I do hope they start getting to the point soon, I’m also down for one of these actually doing something different instead of the same old routine
This show had so much hype, but is not living up to it at all. So many ideas are thrown into each episode, but…
you make an especially interesting point: why didn’t they just make a story about childhood friends meeting again and falling in love? they had the basic foundation for a story right there. why did it have to be a mess of powerpoints and former idols and bitchy interns and coffee orders and three guys wanting the same twink, etc.? imo i don’t think any amount of runtime or episodes could have helped the cluster of nonsense that they ended up writing, because they most likely would have just filled it up with more dead air and nameless side characters gossiping about who has the better project proposal
the only thing this show has going for it is the insane scale of attractiveness among the four male leads - a rare cast of men so gorgeous in their own unique ways that you are guaranteed to find at least one you enjoy looking at. it’s a shame that this level of competence in the casting department was squandered on such an abysmal waste of camera footage. a limited budget does play a role in the quality of a lot of these series, but not to the extent that the typical bl fan excuses try to make it seem. there is no reason for production to rent out an office floor and then have 95% of the show be paint-dryingly boring scenes of people pretending to do office work and making coffee runs, instead of showing your main characters interacting and developing and having fun moments and good dialogue with each other. it is insulting to any audience to expect them to watch something so asinine for 20+ minutes just to get a small hint of the romance story that was advertised. everything is filler and nothing really matters. these characters have no lives or personalities or… anything, outside of a vaguely explained marketing team project. the show is halfway over and there is no story, no direction, no character development, no romance, and no rhyme or reason for any of the plot elements it sort of tries to set up (idol past, meeting as children, having the same name, love triangle). these studios NEED to do better, and the fans excusing it by saying “well low budget 🤷♀️” isn’t gonna cut it anymore, especially when numerous actual good ones have been made on small budgets by this point (for example, our dating sim is office-based, had like two or three locations + a small cast and is fucking fantastic). i gave jun & jun an honest try, but at this point i can’t even hatewatch it cause it straight up puts me to sleep. dropped! but the one guy is hot and got a boner in a scene so it’s good 🤦♂️
tunku knows that sometimes you gotta release a real worthless piece of shit to make your next bl automatically look better in comparison 💯💯 legends of marketing
the last scene between the leads in each episode definitely tends to be a bit more interesting but you can skip all the scenes involving the office/co-workers and not miss out on anything. great writing, guys!
No we still like it as far as it’s sweet office romance 🥰 we don’t care
they spent the first 20 minutes of episode TWO doing exactly that: sitting at a desk, discussing work projects and getting coffee, and then there was a little scene between the leads at the end. what about that is “less boring”? 😭
No we still like it as far as it’s sweet office romance 🥰 we don’t care
that’s why these shows stay as lame as they are lol the office ones in particular don’t even have high ratings on here, where they only seem to care about how many “sweet” scenes a show has, so.. 🥴
but the one guy is hot and got a boner in a scene so it’s good 🤦♂️
