i don't mind sex scenes or erotism, if that's what you mean by blue scenes nor do i think we should consider that novels are worth less because of that (if that's what you mean by "normal"). there are plenty of interesting Japanese novels both nsfw and sfw. No need to force to enjoy his novels. you can appreciate certain elements of his writing without praising everything.

as far as i remember they weren't really sad, i still can appreciate the concept of stories and really skilful navigation of magical realism and its dreamy-ness but the way he writes female characters was a bit off putting to me in longer run (and i did get tried of that story collection about halfway through)
i read one collection of stories from murakami and i don't want to read any more of them (despite being big lover of Japanese lit) but drama might be still enjoyable
lol you don't have to diss his looks. yes he is not as famous as gong yoo for example but he is still well know if you watch dramas. and even if you haven't watched WoH you are quite likely to hear about him sooner or later especially since his "ban" from industry was big
Woh for context was a rather "small" drama with very low budget especially for wuxia drama. that's why they went with non famous actors at the time. if he was to be in good series before Woh he probably wouldn't be acting in woh in first place
i guess korea is a warmer country so for them it was cold :P
from what I saw on the internet during summer it's about 20-25 c and since they are bit further north so probably closer to 20 c than 25, and temperatures at night can go down a lot especially on cloudless night. they weren't wearing winter jackets just your average hoodie 🤷
