didn't know its based on kdrama as i only started watching this for koshiba fuka. but after watching just one episode i can tell instantly its based on kdrama. fat guy becomes handsome, then become a cold company director, with a messed up female lead, typical kdrama cliche. lol. i know how the rest of the story will go already, guess i'll pass on this one.
stopped watching after two episodes. it's good but could be better. feel lengthy at some parts. and Yamada makes it harder to watch. character is very annoying.
unpopular opinion : i actually like Haruki. surprised to see so many people hate him. what's wrong with wanting happy endings for all? what's wrong with avoiding conflicts for peaceful resolution if you can?
why do people hate "goody two shoes" so much that they want to break him down and see him suffer for their own satisfaction? just because your life is miserable doesn't mean you can make his life miserable too. just because you can't have your happy ending doesn't mean you can deny others of it.
both Haruki and Kensuke use underhand tactics to achieve their goals. only difference is Kensuke use them to win while Haruki use them satisfy everyone. When Kensuke lost at the start, he gave in to despair and wants revenge. When Haruki lost at the end, he didn't hold any grudges and still have hope. And Kensuke still hates him for it, it's like he wants to watch him suffer somehow.
I really do not like such stories. It feels like propaganda to domesticate women. If it is about a single mum…
Sacrificing oneself to be a mother takes strength and courage in a world where people look down on housewives thinking it’s easy being them when it’s far from it.
Different people have different definition of success, to her it’s raising a child, to some it’s being a CEO. Either way is commendable.
Both jobs are hard and challenging in different ways as they both require a different form of sacrifices in their lives.
Maybe to you being a CEO is an indication of a strong woman but being a housewife is also a form of courage as you do not care about what others say about you as you’re doing it for your family.
That’s why it’s sad to see those who looks down on housewives are women themselves.
it's actually a good drama. the only reason people hate it is the ending. not because she didn't end up with Shoji but because she didn't end up with Kyoji either, the man she cheats with, but she end up with someone else entirely which doesn't make sense and makes her look promiscuous. she dumps Kyoji then leave her kid with Shoji then she went on with a new guy.
