Title Shadow Love
I vaguely remember Jin'an at some point telling Li Shuang something like "I think I know who I am", but I'm not sure when. Does anyone else remember this or was I dreaming?

I still feel like the whole setup for the assassination of Li Shuang's dad is kind of weird. I'm not sure what…
That was my best explanation too, so I can roll with that explanation :D

It's actually quite realistic I suppose, memory loss in real life usually works like that, not knowing and forgetting that you're forgetting. Super haunting depiction.

I still feel like he could have planned ahead a bit better though. Daddy is a strategic mastermind after all, surely he could've come up with some sort of plan to combat his forgetting 😂 like idk, carve those murals on his body instead of the walls. We could've had so many more naked chest scenes.

When do we think he realized what his real identity is? Didn't he already guess it by episode 24?

I still feel like the whole setup for the assassination of Li Shuang's dad is kind of weird. I'm not sure what Jin'an/DAD is supposed to remember and not remember at that point?

Jin'an/DAD knows Li Shuang will be super screwed if they don't leave the city asap because emperor boi is cray cray. He promises her he'll leave the city with her. But instead he intentionally delays in order to use Li Shuang to create an opportunity to assassinate her dad. And then when his stupid assassination attempt fails, he just flees the city and leaves her behind to her horrible fate. He knowingly implicates her in his dumb assassination attempt and escape, making her commit treason and doesn't even have the kindness to warn her about it.

He knows he's been losing his memory, knows his identity, should know the implications of everything and therefore should really have at least thought to warn her about the situation? About himself? Found a way to protect the person he supposedly wants to protect from himself? Surely the idea that he would hurt her horribly once he forgets about her should have occurred to him, knowing his identity?? Idk, maybe he could at least have written himself a little note, or like, tattooed some characters on his chest?

But instead of doing something, anything at all, he does... nothing. Well, nothing except for planning and conducting a bizarrely impulsive assassination and escape attempt. Seriously, everything about that assassination attempt is giving ✨ Jin Mi stabbing Phoenix ✨(Ashes of Love, IYKYK).

When Li Shuang confronts him after the assassination, he claims he loves her, but everything about his recent behaviour screams that he's forgotten about her. Seriously, if you deeply love someone, you wouldn't implicate and then abandon them like that, no matter what.

It can't be explained by the fact that he remembers his identity, because I don't think he would have acted like that as Prince Annan who remembers Li Shuang.

So then, if it seems that he's forgotten about the fact that he loves her, why does he still say that their love, promises, secret wedding etc. are all real? Does he not realize that he's forgotten about what those things actually mean and just thinks he remembers them?

I'm confused, can anyone enlighten me?

whoawhoawhoa the reason li shuang threw up is for sure just bc of grief right??? right??? we’re not about to…
I had the same thought but I'm afraid there won't be a surprise pregnancy. It would be glorious though.

I would love to see the face of DAD when he finds out, feels crazy jealousy because he can't remember, has to logically piece together that it's his, finally realizing the extent of his relationship with Li Shuang and that he slept with her in a decorated prison cell and forgot about it afterwards 🤣

Idk, I feel like he'd be shocked in a really hilarious way. A girl can dream 😂

I actually thought Li Shuang was really really cool in the latest episodes (and previews).

Previously I sometimes found her character to be a bit "weak" because she often just cries and/or unnecessarily sacrifices herself instead of getting angry and burning shit down even when she really should (looking at you, pathetic emperor boi), because of her (sometimes misguided) sense of obligation. But in these episodes she was so cool, decisive, unyielding, her presence was impressive... and her sass towards DAD was truly next level. I take back everything bad I thought about her character in the past, Li Shuang is awesome!

I also thought she handled the situation with her dad and DAD really well tbh. If the ML was in her place and the situation reversed, I don't think he would've handled it any better. He could have handled it worse, and even then people still would've defended his actions and blamed her for everything 🫠

The previews for episode 31 and 32 are sending me lmao. DAD suggested to have a birthday party for FL's dad just to have an opportunity to assassinate him. While keeping FL completely in the dark about the very relevant memories he was recovering, you know, about being her enemy and stuff. Deception by omission. And then after stabbing her dad he's still in the mood to ask her to run away with him? How did he think this was going to go? I'm imagining something like "sure maybe I killed your dad, but that's okay, because I'm your DAD now"

And then in episode 32 when FL calls DAD hypocritical and tells him to stop acting, he's acting all high and mighty with "I don't need to explain to you, but I have always been aboveboard" LIKE BRUHHH. That assassination was underhanded af??

Is this intentional irony, or do the writers really want me to think that the way he went about assassinating her dad was aboveboard?

Sure, he's a prince, it's about his beloved brother, he has a DUTY, "I really do love you, but there are some things I must do" blah blah blah, but like, surely the aboveboard way to go about killing FL's dad would have been 1. without using the FL to kill him and 2. preferably on the battlefield in a righteous battle?

Like bro, if you really feel that you MUST kill the dad of the person you love asap, at the very least do it without exploiting your relationship with her and the information imbalance between you.

The coming plot will be riveting lol, can't wait.
