yeah, 40 episodes really doesn't seem enough given the current pacing. they'll need to compress/cut some storylines for things to work out well, otherwise it'll likely end up being a bunch of time skips/"check out all this stuff that happened off screen" and we won't feel the right emotional impact.

yeah I'm a little worried about that part too tbh 🫠😂 I already thought that arc was poorly done in the novel and was hoping they'd improve it a bit. let's all hope for the best 😂 🤞🤞🤞
They really could have just kept to the book and sent her down the mountain to get some salt. Other than making…
✨ drama ✨ 😂🤣💀 this part was better in the novel imo. unfortunately with this kind of misunderstanding trope, dramas tend to exaggerate the characters' traits and infinitely escalate until everything becomes completely absurd as the big reveal approaches. things should become more reasonable again after she finds out who he is, unless they go really hard on setting up the next dramatic climax. we can only hope for the best 🤣
... at this point even Chang Yu's pigs would know he is no ordinary person. He is buddy buddy with the Military…
it's starting to be a bit too much for me too. fwiw, her extreme naïveté and obliviousness is essentially 1:1 copied from the novel. in the first arc of the drama I was glad because it felt like they had made her a bit more aware/smarter, but that seems to be out of the window now.
in the beginning she was shown questioning things a few times (e.g. she could figure out that yan zheng fought the home invader squad even though he pretended that he didn't, she could tell he's trained in martial arts), but now she takes absolutely everything at face value.
Awww,..which part? There are so many funny moments in ep 24. I know you don't like him still lying to her.
well said! the all powerful one likely already knows ML is married to her anyway, because literally everyone and their pig knows she is his wife and weakness (except for FL obvs). not to mention, the all powerful one is already after FL anyway, and ML more or less knows why (his conversation with general he). at this point not telling her is a liability, not protection - she's in the exact same danger, but she doesn't even know it.
"Such loyalty and devotion deserve the truth" - Well said, Gongsun Yin. But Xie Zheng oh Xie Zheng, you…
Gongsun Yin: Bro, how deep are you going to dig this hole????? Xie Zheng: Digging with a shovel really is too inefficient. Xie Wu, Xie Qi, quickly, get me an hydraulic excavator!
more like, too busy being a total drama queen and imagining Changyu is probably married to Li Huai'an now, sitting at home like a dutiful housewife with their 5 children 😂 this guy lmao
Xie Zheng really needs to subscribe to the gossip newsletter all the other high ranking people seem to be part of. How come he never heard of the legend of Butcher Beauty, righteous heroine and #1 influencer, and her Butcher Boys backup dancers? 🤣🤣🤣
A lot of this made much more sense in the novel, because everyone including Xie Zheng talks about her status not…
trusting her capabilities would mean trusting that she can take care of herself, not feeling the need to leave her with some other guy who takes care of her and then being salty about the situation he's imagining 😂
I understand what you mean, but him having that kind of perspective feels out of place in the drama for me. it fit more in the novel because there he was shown to be a lot more snobby and judgy in the town arc, he actually looked down on her, but in the drama he seemed to respect her and not look down on her in the first arc. he seemed quite impressed with her. but we all have our own interpretations of course 😊

ofc she has lots of growing to do. my point is that she is very much capable of that growing; in the drama many charactes are portrayed as clearly seeing the potential in her (Gongsun Yin, Grand Tutor Tao, even Li Wenkan), but his behavior makes Xie Zheng seem as if he doesn't see it. everyone appreciates how capable his wife is but him 🤣
and also, in order to really understand what growing even means and why she needs to do it, she needs to know the facts, such as his identity. imo her needing to do growing is an argument AGAINST keeping things from her 😊
I've noticed many commentators here don't like and criticize XZ for not having revealed his true identity to the…
A lot of this made much more sense in the novel, because everyone including Xie Zheng talks about her status not being good enough for him. But in the drama they significantly changed things.
Novel XZ talks about always having intended to marry a noble, gentle, virtuous wife who can manage his household after he dies, thinks FL wouldn't be able to handle that, vs in the drama he just says he doesn't want to confine her like that. Gongsun Yin in the novel says "even if she isn't fit to be your main wife you could at least take her as a concubine" vs drama he says she's fit to handle the job of being his family's matriarch. Old Man Tao also really wants to matchmake them in the drama (😂) and seems to have zero qualms about their status difference.
Also in the novel Changyu was totally unaware of her feelings at that point, in the drama their relationship is much better established and she's more self-aware, saying she'd run off and hastily marry someone else really doesn't seem fair. She's smart enough to figure things out and handle them on her own, treating her like a child without agency that needs to be protected from its own whims is a bit insulting to her
I honestly can't wait anymore, i feel bad for my Chang yu
yup 😊 but I wouldn't mind if they changed the order in the drama and she becomes old man tao's disciple and joins the military before she finds out. she's so cool, I want to see her grow and become confident so when she she finds out, she'll smack him harder
