I'm sorry but I don't have anyone irl who watches what I watch so I just needed to share this. I'm on episode 9, so DJX just had his surgery and SZ comes back saying she bought something to eat. Now when he said it was bread I thought it was some street food and maybe the translation was just iffy. But no, she bought a loaf of bread and juice box and called it a day. I don't know that just made me laugh. Like I cracked up because she keeps insisting that she’s no longer a kid but that's definitely something I would pull in high school when I was too lazy to make something proper.
I saw some talk about some controversy surrounding this drama with age gaps. Literally 2 episodes in, you know he only sees her as a little sister and it's completely solidified by episode 5.
I really dislike the SZ’s female friend from the first few episodes. Why was she trying to force her onto that other classmate. There are a lot of female lead out there who actively pursue the male lead, but the difference is (from the ones I've watched at least) they at least have some interest in the female lead. If this male classmate has been confessing for years while continuously getting shot down, at what point will he realize she's not interested. And to have their friend group joining in, what about SZ's comfort. It's giving clingy female antagonist who goes after the male lead despite him being in a loving relationship and everyone feeling bad when she gets rejected. Its just weird behavior and I'm not a fan. Also the completely freezing her out because she left the party and rejected him (rightfully so!!) She rejected him tons of times before why would that suddenly change now. It just felt like the friend had a crush on him and was jealous and angry that the female lead rejected him. Then to drag her with you to get bullied because you're too stupid to listen to your school's warnings. Please, her exit was welcomed.
The creatives behind this did a really good job drawing viewers in. One hour in and I’m absolutely livid on both their behalf’s, I’m constantly angry for them.
Episode 11 exemplified how distant Zhang Lurang feels from his family and it was made obvious that he struggles with this whenever he's with the two. Even when his younger reaching out, Lurang cannot see himself broaching the gulf he feels is between them. I always feel incredibly sad seeing relationships such as this because neither brother is at fault in this situation. I hope that in future episodes their mother comes to realize how wrong she was for her constant condemnation of Lurang and how her refusal to truly support him has ruined the relationship Lurang has with them both. On a positive note, I was incredibly happy to see the little changes in his behavior because of Su Zai Zai's influence. When in situations such Lurang's, it can seem impossible to indulge in anything that won't make them see you in a different light which only worsens your mental health. Although it might be selfish of me I hope ZaiZai continues to help him in the same manner.
Finally watching the glory as I don’t usually watch shows while they’re being broadcasted and it’s what I thought it would be. I’ve been on the edge of my seat the entire time while cursing and wishing that group dead from the first episode. I’m on episode 8 now so almost done with part 1 and I’m just in a space where I wand MDG to get her revenge then heal emotionally and/or physically. After which maybe she might get with the doctor idk. As for the doctor, that one scene where’s he’s thinking about how to kill the patient the same way the patient killed his dad threw me way off. It was clear he had his own trauma he was dealing but to finally see his mom read the letter from the prison and him doing that in same episode y’all. Is one of that group gonna die. What’s going on, when he said he would be her executioner was he being metaphorical???Anyways peace and love and I hope MDG fucks all of them over with the help of the cute doctor, the best kdrama mother, and her friend from the textile factory.
From the start with the secret relationship, total red flag... Definitely not a friend, much less best friend…
I keep thinking back to that scene in the bathroom when LX tried to corner LWW. At times I believed it would have been best for LWW to have actually shouted at her that day. But at the same time, LWW was the person hurt in that situation. I think that if LWW had gotten angry at LX and AJX when she found out what they did, then it would be like giving LX an out. She wouldn’t need to feel any guilt because she could view it as having been resolved. Ultimately, it was LX’s guilt that ate away at her relationship with AJX because she couldn’t validate them being together because LWW didn’t treat either of them badly.
I’m back again to say LX is a complete bitch and she has no redeemable quality about her. LWW protected LX because she thought of LX as her best friend and believed she thought the same. If LX was a good friend then she should have explained to LWW how she felt instead of hiding her resentment for LWW. With the way things have been revealed it now seems that LX, never truly cared about LWW’s feelings towards AJX. If she did, then she would have had the same conversation with LWW which LWW had with GA, the campus belle. To turn around and throw all of this in her face because of a misunderstanding is revealing of her true character. LX being drunk doesn’t excuse her actions because she always had these thoughts, she just never said them out loud. To make matters worse, she calls LWW a coward and tries to to suggest that she’ll never confess to RC. To be frank, the only thing holding LWW back is AJX and LX, they both stopped her from confessing to RC, and now they’re interrupting RC’s confession. Congratulations to LWW for not allowing LX’s hateful actions and words affect, she’s better than me because I would have slapped her.
GA, being conniving won’t get you the guy. Especially when he’s consistently expressed his annoyance towards you on more than one occasion. Have some decorum, you’re embarrassing yourself
Absolutely living for LWW’s and RC‘s character growth. LWW is becoming more comfortable with her feelings and she’s not as self-deprecating as she was initially. As for RC, once they moved past her switching majors, he’s more focused on being by her side and offering support than anything else. Of course there are times when I wish they would just express their feelings to one another, but I also understand that LWW is still healing from what she experienced with LX and AJX. Overall, I appreciate how understanding he is of LWW’s fears and I know that’s why RC is forcing her to fulfill his expectations.
I’d like to preface this by saying that I’m only on episode 11 so bare with me.
First off, I’d really like to knock some sense into LWW. Obviously RC is helping already to some extent but outside of what he’s done she’s still hopeless. For instance, how can you be “good friends” with GA when you’ve barely talked outside of a few occasions. You’ve barely gotten know each other but she’s already given herself the title of being friends with you, she’s an acquaintance at best. LWW you barely know her outside of the school votes title of campus belle.
Also, unless there’s more that we haven’t seen btween you two, that still changes nothing becayse the seasons have yet to change. This means that you haven’t talked with GA for more than a 3-4 months max. Unless your relationships are truly that shallow, you don’t know that girl.
Finally, you have the clear manipulation that GA is trying to enact on you. RC just questioned you as to why you gave GA his phone number. Upon seeing GA, the first thing you should have asked is why RC thinks you gave her his number. Why are you allowing her to be able over your head.
Anyways, I guess I just want her to become more mature and improve her common sense. I don’t want her to blame herself over what happened with her best friend AJX. It was a betrayal of trust on her end. It also shows how little importance they both placed on their friendships with her. Her failure to be honest with LWW and both of their inability to be forthright has everything to do with them being bad friends. It doesn’t reflect badly on LWW at all and I hope she grows to understand that. If LWW doesn’t, then any relationship she has in the future will be negatively affected.
i got hooked the first episode, the sfx are terrible but i quickly moved passed that, i simply wish for mother…
the moments are scarce but i’m living for the small mother son moments that i’ve gotten so far, I’m on episode 19. To be honest it’s her actions and emotions in the first episode that made me interested in this show
