this is definitely a belated review, but i remember crying a lot watching this and also this being my favorite taiwan drama for a WHILE! ariel lin is so charming in this role! i want a li daren in my life so bad đź«
so nostalgic! i remember watching reruns of this with my mom when i was little LOL
even though there were some characters i absolutely HATED, it just makes this show more realistic! not every person is perfect, and there WILL be people who piss you off! 🤣 i agree with other comments comparing this to sex and the city but younger!
although i'm personally not satisfied with the conclusion due to my own selfish reasons of wanting the characters i like to have happy endings, i still really enjoyed this show! cast is superb and i love how complex the relationships are. this show introduced me to so many great actors!
absolutely loved the cast and characters -- the acting and production quality is top notch!! it's a great murder mystery with complex relationships, and as someone who watched all seasons already i really love how they delve into the story of each of the characters so that you really don't know who did it! definitely recommend giving this series a shot.
i don't care what anyone says, this is STILL the most iconic version of boys over flowers in my opinion. of course it looks dated now since it was produced in the early 2000s, but this show started such a craze. i was still a kid, but my mom even went to an f4 concert! to me the casting is so on point when comparing to the original manga, and it's just so nostalgic rewatching it. the ost is great too, and i loved the actors' chemistry with each other!
i fell in love with cheryl yang while watching light the night, so i decided to pick this drama up since i wanted to watch more of her works! i don’t normally watch age gap romances, but this drama had me INVESTED… the dialogue in this show is amazing and there were so many killer lines that really tugged at my heart strings. cheryl and ethan juan are such amazing actors; every time their characters had an argument i was holding my breath bc i could feel the emotion. they’re perfect for their roles! i’m honestly shocked that i didn’t know about this drama sooner — i’d say this is definitely one of my favorite tw dramas now! the drama “fated to love you” that ethan starred in is the highest rated tw drama of all time (or one of them) and is one of the works he’s most well-known for, but i honestly prefer this one! i'm sad that i finished it, but on to the next!
i'll be honest, i mainly started this show bc i love puff kuo and she usually has great chemistry with her costars (puff kuo kiss scenes are chefs kiss)! even though the plot can be seen as a bit cliche with the drama, i still found myself unable to stop watching! so, i actually quite enjoyed the show, but like most other people i am VERY confused about that open-ended ending...
