it seems that Ma Zhai Xing cares about nobody but Prince Bo. it's so sad to see another drama where FL literally…
and also want to mention that it's absolutely normal for Ma Zhai Xing to have been in a deep grief over the Wolfie. he was her best friend and died, as she believed, such a terrible death. yet it becomes too much when he is the only person she thinks and speaks about
for example, almost all dialogues sound like this:
any character: oh this bao zi looks delicious! do you want it? MZX: the Wolfie liked them too... any character: oh...
or
any character: what a beautiful butterfly! MZX: the Wolfie could say where it was without seeing it... any character: oh...
it's super annoying. Ma Zhai Xing hasn’t mentioned even her father so far
it seems that Ma Zhai Xing cares about nobody but Prince Bo. it's so sad to see another drama where FL literally thinks only about ML and ignores her family and friends who have been always supporting her. sometimes she seems intelligent and reasonable (for instance, when she has to investigate something or when she deals with Bao Na) but most of the time she is always like "Prince Bo, the Wolfie, Princo Bo, the Wolfie". Ma Zhai Xing has been obsessed with the Wolfie for years and later with Prince Bo, and now when she finds out that it's the same person her obsession doubles, I guess.. and why do screenwriters think that such character traits as naiveness, obsession with love, obstinacy, lack of dignity, forgiveness (due to great love, of course) are best for female characters?
i've been waiting for this drama for 3 years and i tried to keep my expectations low and still i ended up being disappointed. even so, i still want to finish it because i'm interested in the overall plot and some characters. cinematography and music are also great. it's definitely not the worst drama ever. sadly, both ML and FL are off-putting but i do hope they become more tolerable (at least FL after she finds out the truth)
Great drama! Never have I seen before so many charismatic and talented actresses and actors in just one drama. Although Fan Xian is often too annoying and arrogant and Lin Wan'er is one of the worst and weakest main female characters I've ever seen in Chinese historical dramas, I've enjoyed it so much. Looking forward to the second season
it's funny to see how almost everyone ships Fan Xian with either Si Li Li or Haitang knowing that he's supposed to be in love with only the princess. but I can't blame them lol it's sad that Fan Xian has great chemistry with literally everyone except for his fiancee. in this case, I'm glad that romance isn't a big part of this drama
So far Hunian seems the most reasonable of the Xiao sisters. Both Wuguli and Yanyan are extremely selfish (in…
and I'm getting a little bit tired of the trope where the main female character has to become a queen/an empress because of some circumstances (like emperor's one-sided love or to save family) but not because she does want it (for example, to become a virtuous ruler to help people). This trope doesn't make the drama bad (almost all historical dramas I've enjoyed have this kind of plot) but it becomes repetitive
So far Hunian seems the most reasonable of the Xiao sisters. Both Wuguli and Yanyan are extremely selfish (in the context of that time) who are ready to sacrifice everybody including the family to get what they want and know nothing about responsibility. Anyway, I hope I change my mind about Yanyan as I really want to like the main female character
I see most people complain about the plot now, and here I still enjoy it :) I like the concept of the rationality…
Absolutely agree with you! To be honest, it is hard to feel sorry for main couple because there is no chemistry between them (to my mind, of course). Also they fall in love too quickly. Even so, I still enjoy the drama and Mingyi is one of my favourite characters so far
Maybe yes but LJK Fandom would shred the writer to pieces.. He can do a movie that way but a drama? A strict no..It…
Arihant D Yeah, I tend to agree with you. I just don't like when a character who is supposed to be ambiguous appears eventually to be too innocent. I mean. yes, he did some bad things, such as KMJ's kidnapping, but I very much doubt that DHS will go to prison. And CJW will still love him despite everything, of course. It seems I kind of tired of plots where love wins everything and always (like really always) helps people become better lol Or maybe it's just about this drama. We'll see how it ends
I'm on 15 ep and I cannot believe that CP is already deeply in love with a woman, about which he knows so little (and even doesn't recognize her voice although he's supposed to know it very well) lol Therefore, I'm not sure if I should continue to watch it. It definitely has potential and I've read a lot of positive reviews, yet the romantic line gets me frustrated. Can someone tell me in a nutshell about how their relationships develop in further episodes? Will CP be kind towards her?
Also I was wondering if anyone has watched Ruyi's Love in the Palace. Is Yanxi or Ruyi better? Is it worth the…
I do understand what you mean, but I did not say that Ruyi's Love in the Palace is the most accurate version ever. The fact presented in Ruyi's that Ulanara and Emperor were deeply in love at the beginning apparently contradict historical facts, and I agree with that. As to Ruyi's downfall , we are not able to say for sure what actually happened. There are too many versions so people can interpret as they wish. Nevertheless, Ruyi's is much more historically accurate that Yanxi in general (characters, traditions, relationships in harem and so on). To my mind, Wei Ying Luo is absolutely unrealistic character who hardly would live a day in a real palace. That's why I tend to think that Ruyi's is more realistic drama despite it having its own issues.
i really hate the fact that sima yi has a son from ling yun. was it so necessary? i mean, i know that actually he had many concubines and, therefore, children, but this fact has been changed in this drama. he was portrayed as a person who loves only one woman – his wife. i feel so bad for chun hua when she finds out that lun is sima yi and ling yuan's child. although it is still the good drama, i am so disappointed by this plot twist.

Currently, I'm watching Ruyi's Love in the Palace and I like it. It differs from Yanxi very much but it gets more interesting with each episode. It is slow-paced (especially in the beginning) but more historically accurate (I mean all these traditions which sometimes weren't followed in Yanxi as well as real relations between Emperor and his subjects including wives ). Both dramas are great but I would say I prefer Ruyi's Love in the Palace. I notice that the Qianlong's second empress is usually portrayed as a woman who deserves such a destiny so it was really fascinating to take a look at this story from another point of view. You can give it a try if you like more realistic stories concerning relations in a harem
It's a masterpiece! Yes, there are some controversial points (especially in the last episodes) but still, I do like it. Chen Kun and Ni Ni's acting is impeccable, though I also want to mention Qu Gao Wei who plays Ning Qi; he's done a great job in portraying such an ambiguous character. The chemistry between the two main characters is amazing. I would like to see them together in another project. Despite having mixed feeling about the ending itself, I have enjoyed watching this drama.
I absolutely love Kim Min Jung as Kudo Hina! Really, she's very charismatic. Before Mr. Sunshine I saw her only in Gap Dong, and, to be honest, she was just horrible. I'm not sure whether she's improved her acting or just this role suits her more. Anyway, she's done the excellent job in portraying Kudo Hina. I think I like her more than Ae Shin. And the chemistry between Hina and Dong Mae makes me crazy!

MZX: the Wolfie liked them too...

or
