Hi fellow kdrama lovers.. I kindly ask you to boycott Dlsney+ as they are supporting a gen0cide! Don't let your…
right! there are so many asian drama streaming websites on the internet anyway. where u can even download the episodes at no cost except an internet service. ❤❤❤❤❤
lol. as i scrolled thru this comment section, i saw a pattern which i also saw on other related articles' comment sections. while these TSoPMC fans will have u believe that their faves are being attacked nonsensically by so-called/alleged MD "attackers/burners", all i see are them being the real bad guys and being all bitchy. and i'm seeing the repetitive display names (i.e., accounts) working overtime. they must think so highly of themselves. and must have such boring and pathetic personal lives to be creating/provoking fanwars and spreading venom. and as i've observed, MD fans can't praise their own without being bombarded with hate comments by the other side and/or can't seem to get a word in edgewise.
i say, to each his/her own. u don't need to drag another show down in order to elevate your own or to prove that you're such a big fan. meanwhile, here i am being genuinely happy for the results of both shows (one faring v well in the domestic market & the other on netflix global), which i've been anticipating since they were announced and am only waiting for them to finish airing to be able to binge-watch them. ^^
P.S. you haters can cry all you want for all i care but won't be commenting again on the subject after this or replying to any comment under this. because unlike you ampalayas, i have a life outside of the internet and don't like engaging in such childish acts.
am i the only one hoping SK turns down the role so another actor gets cast? not a fan of his but i know for sure that i will watch any drama (or movie) starring KYJ. and whether SK ends up being the ML in the end, i still hope KYJ accepts the role bcoz i want a drama from her so bad. plus i can just imagine the visuals those descriptors (chaebol heiress, sweet & salty, chic & elegant but with a crazy personality) evoke. i want the same looks she had in backstreet rookie (with the long black hair). *chef's kiss* ^^
I would never watch any garbage Disney puts out! American culture made its way into manga and anime and will slowly…
yep! i'm also concerned abt how america's already infiltrated and is slowly but surely influencing kdramas. all thanks to such streaming giants like netflix. speaking of gender, notice how some kdramas released in the past few yrs have oh-so-subtly introduced or hinted at gender (i.e., lgbtq) themes. first noticed it in a now 3-yr old kdrama during the lockdown and since then, been noticing it in other recent kdramas too.
i mean, if i wanted to watch american/western culture or ideas played out in my dramas, i wud've watched american/western tv dramas instead. in other words, i wud like my kdramas (or asian dramas in gen) to stay just the way they are or being in a class of their own that is free from all these "great" american/european/western big ideas, etc., thank you very much. 🙄🥴
Not a fan of hers, but I was impressed with her performance in "That Winter, The Wind Blows" and "Full House".
lol. one doesn't have to be a professional actor in order to judge good or bad acting. are you then saying that all (or at least most) professional critics of films and dramas are or were once professional actors themselves? coz otherwise, they aren't qualified to do their jobs of critiquing actors' portrayals in films and dramas?
as to your point on SHK not being given a larger variety of roles, i beg to differ. SHK is her own person and has the final say in all the projects she participates in no matter what her management says. she's the one who made the decisions and who's responsible for how her career panned out. if she's being given the same roles over and over again, it's her fault for not refusing them or for not insisting on what she really wants.
so to say that it's not the actor's fault for not being given a large variety of roles is such a lame and lazy excuse to go about it. it's just a matter of making smart (and strategic) decisions on the actor's part. i myself stan many actors (male & female) in the industry who've portrayed such colorful arrays of roles in both films and dramas because they're not afraid to get out of their comfort zones. :)
