I just binge-watched it and wow it was so good! an amazing cast, of course it couldn't go wrong with Sato Takeru and Mitsushima Hikaru. But their younger version too was really good, love the young and freshness vibes of their younger-self. A beautiful story with happiness, sadness, frustration, dreams, regrets and all kind of emotions. Even if the main plot is something we often see in j-movie, it was perfectly directed. The cinematography was really beautiful, the cold weather of Hokkaido fits really well with the vibes and of course, Utada Hikaru's song. in the first place, I love 'first love' and I'm on my way to listen it on repeat again. Writing a drama based on music was something new, and it was really well done.
I wasn't really convinced by these two first episodes, but since the episodes are less than 1h each and it's only the beginning, I'll give it more chance next week. also, it's hitting hard how I can see myself in some of the ML introvert character
Every time something is going well with Atom, SAGAS counter-attack with some dirty plot, the 2nd part of the drama is about to be an intense fight for atom
just watched episode 7, and I keep saying this after each episode, but I LOVE THIS DRAMA SO MUCH! The way it makes me cry each episode is amazing. The dialogues and scenes with the piano playing are so beautiful for so many reasons, everything is so meaningful. Definitely the best drama this season and it might even be one of my fav jdrama this year. It has been a while a drama made me emotional in literally every episode like that.

this was intense...we need to take a deep breathe sometimes while watching because it's heavy, violent, triggering and brutal but in a "fascinating" way because the darkness and psychological things going on here are really well done and interesting! It was really well written, and I binge-watched it the same way I did with D.P and sometimes it gave me the same feeling. Also, first time watching a drama with Park Jihoon, I mostly know him back in wanna one but he delievered an amazing acting here! another great idol to actor road.
so thrilling! kept watching one episode after the other and it's now 2am and I have work tomorrow, so I will make a reasonable move and go to sleep and finish the 2 episodes tomorrow but I can see why D.P is in the recommendation here, it's quite dark, heavy and violent but also really good! it's pretty good, it got me hooked want to found out who is the killer ! But so many characters irritated me lol I think everyone except Ji Soo Heon. Chanmi is so reckless, so many time I thought 'why would you do that girl' somehow she's strong but at the same time not strong at all. And how can they bumped into each other that much lol sometimes there are things that doesn't make sense but it's fine still enjoy it.
also I've been a fan of NOA (the actor playing Takumi) before the drama. He is a singer and it's actually his first time acting. I really enjoy his song! I waited to watch episode 4 before listening 'Melody' and the song is really nice! 3 songs in a row (and 2 more to come) and they are all great. It's really a shame that 8LOOM is just a fictional group because they seem to be pretty popular right now. It's actually the main reason I enjoy this drama, honestly we are not really here for the acting, either the story too which is quite classic, the idol group part and the fact that they are promoting them for real as a group is really what makes it enjoyable !
just finished episode 6 and once again in tears when 'subtitle' starts playing. 6 episode and I cried in every episode! This drama is really amazing, definitely the best jdrama this season. everything from writing, casting, acting, story, cinematography and ost is perfect.
I just watched episode 3, the things happening are quite linear and typical so far, the love triangle too is quite meh I'm not really fan of those or it's more like I already saw this a hundred time so I'm kind of tired of it. But I really love the FL she's the kind of character in a drama that I really like bubbly, energetic and expressive, she's also so cute and pretty. And also enjoy the cheering squad part so, I'll keep watching!

I see what you mean, I'm not really familiar with software development and video games but all the things you pointed out here are indeed true some of them also got my attention while watching but I was just like "It doesn't make sense but okay fine" lol I think I just didn't pay that much attention to it and went through it so it didn't refrain me enjoy the drama!

got the chance to watch it in premiere in a festival in my city. I had high expectation because of the amazing cast, because I'm a big fan of IU and because of Koreeda previous work (shoplifters and our little sister are among my fav movies!) overall it was indeed a good movie, it has all the good ingredients he usually do. the cinematography was beautiful and acting really good! But have to say that it I'm a little bit disappointed, it didn't reach my expectation probably because I had the feeling they didn't go that deep into the characters. We understood them but somehow it feels like it could have gone deeper. So overall I think like some point were missing to fully enjoy it! So for me its a good movie but not at the same level as some of previous works.
the breakup scene btwn minato and tsumugi in ep 5 was a needed scene to end this first half of the drama. their conversation was heartbreaking and at the same time heartwarming. we can now fully move on to the 2nd half. Like lot of you said below, we need more behind story of Sou to understand him better and what he has and is going through so I'm looking forward it!
