To all the haters, just keep on watching. We acknowledge your presence and your views are valuable. But whatever has been said and done, this series is getting better and better. Better than the stoic acting of actors in the 1st series.
It seems to going well at the moment... so or the karma does not work or these stories of eurocentrism are a big…
It's the year 2019! It's globalization. People from every walks of life come in and out of every country. If someone that represents your country is half and not "pure" (who is pure anyway?), there's absolutely nothing wrong with it as long as he/she can do it. So stop making issues about it just to make it sound like you are concerned. Everyone is fighting for their dreams and it's free for the taking, whether you're half non-white or not. And STOP bringing your issue to this lovely series. If you really want to fight for what you call eurocentrism and since you sound like you're so passionate about it, then do it. Go ahead and do it in the proper venue. Not here where you are spoiling things and spreading negative vibes for the fans. Because we don't care about the actors's genes , race, half-race or whatever. We don't like Chen because he can speak Turkish or Pavel because he grew up in NZ. We love them because of who they are and even if they are half white, THAT'S NOT THEIR FAULT! We care that we enjoy the series, we are being entertained, and it makes us feel alive. So do up your trousers and go!
2 Moons has a very special place in me. It is the first BL series that I've seen. I enjoyed it then and I still enjoy it now whenever I re-watch the series. And I sure did re-watched it before this new version came along. So I'm gonna compare this to the new version - for entertainment purposes only, including the actors and characters' looks and acting skills. It is by no intention to pit them against each other. But it’s only episode 1 for 2moons2 so it’s still gonna be a long way to go. So my opinion of the new cast is not final but just based on the first episode and how they look portraying the characters. So here we are... WAYO Originally played by Bas. Now I fully think that Bas is better looking than Earthe. Earthe is not bad looking at all. Very cute indeed. But Bas's face features and silky smooth skin is perfect for Wayo. On the acting department though, Bas is no match to Earthe. Earthe conveys those emotions that we've been missing on the original series. Even his facial expressions and body languages say it all. This kid can act the role effortlessly. He can be funny and at the same time serious. He kills this character so much. Bas on the otherhand is a bit stiff and acts very reserved. Further in the series Bas improved a little but still his acting needs a lot of improvement. So for this character, I'd go for Earthe. I'm enjoying his potrayal. PHANA Again, comparing the looks of these actors is very obvious. Godt is hunkish and Ben is goodlooking as well. But Godt is the one that can really capture your attention as what Phana did. But on the acting side, Godt is very lame and soul-less. Ben on the otherhand is very spontaneous. You can see that he's still a neophyte in the first episode but boy he can act. He can tease, get mad, get serious, even gets awkward on some scenes. He's a way better actor. I wasn't sure about him when he was presented as Phana. Now I have no more misgivings. MING I was actually disappointed when Kimmon played this part. Ming for me could give Wayo a competition in the looks department. Kimmon is not bad looking, not at all. But he can't be convincing to be charming and stubborn at the same time. Here comes Chen, now he's perfect for this role and in the first episode, he killed a lot of scenes. Especially the scene where Forth and Wayo exchanging numbers and comes Phana exchanging dialogues with Wayo. I love the facial expressions of Chen. In my opinion, he owned the first episode with his charm and acting. KIT For this character, I am divided. Of all the actors in original series, Copter is my favorite. I love his snobbish attitude toward Ming and falling in love at the same time. He did it very well. As for Nine, when he was cast, I doubt he can be convincing for this role. But still I've waited. On episode 1, he acts blandly but my fave scene in ep1 of the new version belongs to him and Earthe's first meeting in the stairs. It is too early and Nine didn't have a full scene yet. He might surprise us in the next coming episodes. I like Copter a little bit for this part but I am looking forward to Nine's scenes. BEAM This is one of my fave characters in the novel but the opposite with Tee. He's just my least fave in this series. He acts OK and looks dashing but something is always missing when he acts Beam. Dome has only 2-3 scenes on episode 1 - too early for me to conclude. But so far I must say that Beam is getting interesting again to me. Dome has that casual and formal very gentlemanly look. On his few acting scenes, he's pretty much okay and interesting. FORTH Same with Kimmon, I was disappointed with how Tae played Forth. I never got that savage and bad-boy feels. He looks kinda goody-good kind of guy trying to be bad. Pavel on the otherhand is the complete opposite. Just by looking at him, I can feel Forth already. The millennial kind. And that bad bike scene is so savage. He's perfect for this role. Can't wait to feel his sensitive side in some scenes.
I might be changing some my opinions as we go further on this new version but Wayo, Phana, Ming, and Forth are well cast and played. The one thing that I don’t like about the new version is that it is giving away too many scenes. It lessens my excitement as I can see the pairing and the upcoming scenes on many occasions. On the ending part, there are some unnecessary and give-away scenes that I tend to stop the video before it completely spoils me. Hope this can be addressed as excitement is a major key on this new version as we are very familiar with the novel and the series as well.
