On Love on the Turquoise Land Dec 4, 2025
i usually appreciate a lot of character development, but many of the latest scenes aren’t adding all that much…the story just drags on. reading comments from other viewers, it looks like i’m alone in thinking Love on the Turquoise Land is a case of 16 episodes’ worth of material being stretched out to fill 32?

So same woth ajin use ppl she dont like get married to ppl she dont like and when shes done with them disgaurds…
true. it’s just that Ahjin doesn’t make any moral claims about the things she does. personally, people who pursue dark agendas whilst swearing that they have selfless intentions bother me more.

I dislike junseo so much
same, friend, same. i think that when Ahjin got into an official relationship he decided to just punish her, but when she got married he made up his mind to go to the final extreme.

thoughts after episode 12:

so…all along this Junseo was the type who harms or kills someone if they don’t desire him in the way he desires them. i wonder if he even understood that his narrative about ‘stopping’ Ahjin for her own good was a false screen he was putting up between himself and his other motives.

also- on top of everything else i just want to say that, based on the passage he read aloud from his novel in one of the episodes, i found that guy’s writing extremely lacking!!!

about the role of Baek Ahjin: it almost feels like this was written for Kim Youjung as an opportunity to demonstrate her range and avoid being typecast as an ‘intelligent sweetheart’. she kept the intelligent part and really rose to the challenge with everything else.

lastly, RIP Kim Jaeoh.

is it good? I’m in ep 6 and I’m bored
this got off to a slow start for me as well- it took me around 9 episodes to get into the story. the characters have interesting layers, so i’d say it’s worth continuing!

The moment has up to where WY steps up and confesses to CY, I knew she would turn him down. But i feel like later…
Chu Yu is much stronger than i am…that’s for certain. at this point i’d have said yes to Wei Yun about 1000 times already.

but i respect her resolve in considering herself as a person who’s only living to uncover the truth about what happened to her father and to the Weis. if for any reason her plans falter before her goal is achieved, her desperate gambit of marrying a dead man becomes meaningless…

i suppose there needs to be some sort of event that signals she can be in love without turning her back on what she’s vowed to achieve.

really enjoying the way each character’s luscious locks are constantly dancing in some sort of breeze even when everyone’s indoors with the doors and windows closed… (i write this affectionately. the cast is talented and attractive, so why not add even more glamour with wind machines? 😎)

Also, we still don’t know if Fugui is going to be D-word or not, but…It’s funny how I started this drama…
maybe the true Heaven and Earth Strike is the one that changes the definition of a happy ending 😅

I think you folks are coping the writers totally messed up this second half.
fair point. even when I process QC’s story as a secondary guide to QT’s character, neither of my two standout ‘QT, they could never make me hate you’ moments so far have involved QC.

About QC s character, it is the typical bullied become the bully. People may get mad at him, and hate what it…
there may be an intention for his part in the story to end as he blocks a direct attack on QT from the black fox. but you’re right…his previous behaviour with the cultivation techniques makes it seem like he could actually tolerate QT being harmed. so we’ll have to see 😬

how would you have developed QT’s character?

yes, we have similar thoughts on this situation. as you already pointed out, believing the peaceful coexistence of humans and demons is possible seems a bit naive when you look at the spider siblings’ life story. plus, between the two of them, only QT has had the chance to meet a human who was good to her despite knowing she was a spy.

and about QT’s hesitation as to what to do about QC: it’s clear that QT still believes everything she went through for QC’s sake was worth it. she’s giving him every chance to prove that he’s worth it…meanwhile Fugui effortlessly shows he’s on QT’s level by insisting on her freedom. like…take some notes, QC?!

just watched episode 27…

glad Rumu’s romance is going well…

and our Yunfei is indeed a fox through and through. loved his Qincheng-trolling activities so much.

about QC: i’m seeing him as someone who’s been completely destroyed by the experience of not having any power at all. (thinking about QC reminding QT that for most of his life all he could do was tremble in a corner.) he probably thought that once the black fox helped him get more power he’d be able to change the way his saviour and protector sees him.

now QC understands that isn’t going to happen, it seems that his chief goal is to make a huge mess of everything, bring about his rival’s downfall and die: in that order.

it’s sad that QC is unable to consider the meaning of QT putting her life on the line for him again and again. QT has shown QC exactly how much she values his wellbeing, and it isn’t enough for him- he’s got a story in his head about QT caring for Fugui ‘more’ than she does for QC because Fugui is more powerful. when really it isn’t about liking one person more than the other. QT’s feelings for Fugui and her care for QC just come from two equally good but completely different places…and both places are unrelated to power. which makes QT’s character even more interesting to me.

based on what we were shown in Love In Pavilion, i think QT has a lot more in common with the majestic Dongfang Huaizhu than anyone could have guessed at the beginning. i’m guessing that Fugui’s mother would approve of QT’s clearsighted grasp of things as they are. seeing in black and white would make it easier to take action, but QT isn’t here to do what’s easiest- she determinedly searches for way to do what’s actually right instead of what seems right. in that sense QT is proving herself to be a perfect match for Fugui.

Rumu’s father is such a never-ending ‘problem who sees other people as the problem’ that i’m actually left speechless…

I liked this drama, so I came here to check and see the reactions of everyone. I laughed at typical MDL rating…
same here! i saw the rating, decided to watch the first episode and decide for myself, and now i need an Express Pass 😅 for me this is a good, sad and interesting story, both visually and in terms of character psychology, allegiances and conflicts.

the leads are charismatic, i’m appreciating the bond that’s growing between the women of the Wei family, and i’m nervous & curious about the Emperor’s sister, who seems complicated to say the least. as someone who really enjoyed The Double, i’m finding Fight For Love just as strong, if not stronger.

great script so far; i hope this style and pace are maintained. all the actors are on top form, and our Yeobeen is outstanding as always. also really enjoying the character of Hyeji & the budding sismance between her and Yeongran!

warning for those who love a complex character study but really don’t enjoy weeping and feeling wretched over fictional characters: this really is a a desperately sad story.

i’m on episode 15, so just about half way through….finding the scenarios very interesting. yet don’t know if i can bear to continue.
