The review that compares it to 2010-era kdramas is exactly right. It's super cute and upbeat and cliche. Kind of easy to drop after the leads get together or even before that, considering how obvious it is that they like each other and how little obstacles they face. Sejeong makes for an extremely likeable protagonist, I'm not sure what it is about her. Ahn Hyoseop is almost too sweet-looking for initially-cold Taemoo.

This was overall enjoyable. However the lack of moralistic nuance and one dimensional leads made this mediocre…
I read somewhere that Yeonjin's actress played her to be very intentionally despicable before I ever watched the drama, so I figured this drama wouldn't deal with anything particularly complex. The closest we get is Yeonjin's mostly legitimate attempt to be a good mom, even if she wasn't necessarily doing a great job at raising her daughter to be a good person. Beyond this, she has no real character motivations besides cruelty and power plays.

As a result, I was surprised to see most of the revenge was mind games mostly executed within the antagonist group (even if FL laid the bait), considering how objectively "evil" (most of) the antagonists were.

The more realistic version of this show would probably have Yeonjin be kinder in adulthood, or more successfully manipulative towards others (audience included), and her rich CEO husband wouldn't give a fuck about this beyond his reputation because let's be real lmao, but I imagine the simple morality of it makes the show more palatable to a larger audience.

What would you recommend if I liked the drama and stakes of this as well as the romance, but didn't want to watch another drama about school violence?

So many overrated and overhyped rom coms with the same recycled plot can score a rating above 8, I think MDL ratings…
Personally, I am not opposed to affairs in media at all, I just thought it wasn't very exciting.

Surprised to see people say this show "drags" on. I drop dramas all the time for taking too long or failing to keep my interest, but I haven't run into that with this one so far and I'm almost done.

If you don't take this drama seriously then it's a lot of fun. North Koreans watching smuggled copies of this…
Several defectors in the south said it was pretty accurate, didn't they? I doubt it's particularly offensive either way - it depicts corruption and egregious policing (house checks) as well as the relative normalcy of every day life. Besides, I imagine romcom kdramas set in luxury Seoul apartments aren't very relatable for the average south Korean either :P

Oh, there's no comments here? I'm watching Crash Landing on You for the first time and I keep thinking "oh, his smile is so unique, if only he played a more likeable character" - and still I want to see more of him on screen.

I want to see him as main (or main supporting) cast next time!!!! Such good vibes from this guy. Doesn't hurt that he's exactly my type lol

7/10: Pretty good. The ending begs for a season 2, the entirety of the detective B plot seems unfinished and lacking, episode 6 felt like tearjerker bait (they almost got me) that cost the show its most interesting relationship dynamics... but the art direction was a stroke of genius and took full advantage of the death game concept, the acting is great, I really enjoyed most of the supporting cast and I had a good time.

Maybe this will shock u as well but let me say it : people may have different tastes
Yes! Some people think mediocre-to-bad shounen anime tier writing works with real people who can't even act. I do find that shocking.

I really love her, when I saw her in the last drama I watched my first thought was Blair Waldorf - I'd love to see her in a main role like that.
On The Day of Becoming You Jul 17, 2021
Very good. The two main characters are fun and interesting, their relationship develops at a believable pace, and they have great chemistry. This is one of those drama I feel I'll only appreciate more over time because this combination of a fun story line and characters that grow as the story develops with good actors and great chemistry is surprisingly rare.

The body swap hijinks are hilarious and perfectly portrayed by both actors. You can tell they spent a lot of time studying each other's habits; it's immediately obvious who's who.

It's a little too long and slow-paced for a rewatch imo, but that doesn't harm the initial viewing experience at all. The paid advertising was so painfully obvious it was almost funny.

I can't with Kira's dream of Asahi in the first half of E8 & how he literally misunderstood everything she said.…
When he was chasing that poor mangaka around the table trying to end his life using a rolled up poster... I love him so much.

Someone get this man a leading role in a romance drama. He's cute and actually a good actor! Chop chop get to it

There's many kinds of social commentary that they tackle in every episode. It's not just another romance show…
The acting seems on par with, if not better than, most other romance drama. Do you not usually watch those? They tend to be a bit exaggerated. Kira's pretty dramatic, but he's comic relief so that's acceptable imo.

I'm watching this for the moms and Bi Soo. Well, to be honest, I started watching this for Nana (FL actress) and I do really like Joo In, but this failed, forced love triangle is not doing her character any favors. I hope it ends soon.

This is not good.

Night is cute, I wish there would have been more development into something more humane. Our protagonist is horrible to Night even when he doesn't deserve it at all. Her relationship with Soushi feels a lot more natural and was a lot of fun to watch, and I say that as someone who really loved Night and was rooting for him. Riiko just did not care about him until the last two episodes, in part because he barely developed until then.

Same. I really don't like love triangle
I wouldn't mind it if I liked the second male lead, or if I wasn't sold on the male lead yet. But even as someone who can enjoy love triangles, this one is not enjoyable. Bi Soo is already in too deep, has already shown how much he cares, even confessed already. There's no reason to balance this out with a 'nicer guy' option, because Bi Soo is ridiculously kind already at this point.
