I started to watch this drama after a longer break, I think this is my 5th time.. It is so well written, beautifully filmed, I love all of the three main characters and the actors.. It is emotional, pretty and sad.. Not an easy watch, but that is what makes it such an excellent drama.

One of my favourite Japanese dramas: Two lost and lonely souls find safety, comfort - and a reason to live - in each other.
On At 25:00, in Akasaka Jun 19, 2025
I like it specially because it is a drama about making a drama. I studied film making in my early 20's and this perspective gives it another vibe. I also like the manga kind of not so natural acting. It was clearly a chosen style and the a bit stiff characters and situations made me smile many times. I think I have watched the drama three times now and I will surely rewatch it in the future again.

:D ! I am at the episode 10/14 now and there has not been a boring moment.. Lately there has been so many K-dramas that fall flat at some point that this is super good and well written - and acted too - compared to most of them. I really did not remember I found this this good! I am happy I accidently bumped into it again! I hope you will enjoy watching it again too.

I really loved this drama! finally a romcom kdrama that actually makes you only laugh. I loved the acting and…
Me too! I watched it once when it was just released and liked it and now it came up somewhere and I started to rewatch it (I am at the 7th episode now..) and it is very enjoyable! I love the characters and it is not only the main ones but the side characters too. They actually have a personality and a meaning in this drama. The topics are not light at all but it is made in a way that leaves you with a smile on your face! :)
I just like Lee Jun Young as an actor. I saw him first time in "Good Casting" (2020) and he always throws himself into these somehow crazy characters. One of my favourites of him is the movie "Love And Leashes" - I have seen it many times and never grow tired of it. (Also the FL is good in it.) So I started to watch this just because of him. We'll see how it turns out to be..

Title A Distant Place Spoiler
I wish I could..
I did not see it like this.. I see it as an open ending.

I also did not think they broke up. Hyeon Min just got hurt and angry cause Jin Woo blamed him of everything. Which sometimes happen in relationships when during an argument people say nasty things they do not mean.

There was lots of symbolics of the beginning of life (the little girl) and the end of it (the old grandmother) together in the same scenes through out the whole movie.

How I saw it is, that Jin Woo had made up his mind of leaving with his sister and Seol - maybe going after Hyeon Min too - but he had the farmer's words in his mind (about staying) - otherwise we would not have seen that scene - and then watching the baby sheep to be born..

I think this was left open with questions like: What is important in life? Where do you really want to be - belong - and what does that mean?
On A Distant Place Mar 28, 2025
The movie has lots of beautifull scenes.. Specially with the little girl and the grandmother - both the beginning of a human life and the end of it - in a same picture frame.. Where the life starts and where it ends - if you get to live to be old - and then everyone has their unique life in the middle.

Title Night Flight
One of the best Korean movies I have seen. I think I have watched it in all 4 times during the past 5 years. Allthough it is a tuff watch because of all the bullying and violence the story is so well written and the movie well directed and acted that I always come back to it.

People watch movies and dramas with all kinds of violence, murders, torture, war and all that it is totally ok…
You said: "It is simply disgusting.." Would be nice to hear what you think about all the violence, murders, torture etc. in the dramas?? You think it is all disgusting and you never watch any it??

I think this drama was just realistic. The teatcher was really fighting with his emotions. Things like this can happen. It is just a drama, I won't have nightmares after this.

Why, for God's sake, would this be unacceptable now?! On which planet do you live?
People watch movies and dramas with all kinds of violence, murders, torture, war and all that it is totally ok - I guess cause it is drama and fiction. But then this.. You really think this is the worst kind of thing to see in a drama??

I don't know why so many people seem to dislike this so much. I think it is a nice drama with an actual plot. They could have made it longer to deepen it a bit more, but the way it is I like it.

For those people who wanted more "hot scenes" then obviously for them it is lacking, but in my opinion not every BL story needs them. This was a short story about healing from an abusive relationship and finding ability to trust someone again.
On Our Youth: After Story Feb 16, 2025
I don't understand how some people thought of this sequel as it was pessimistic and negative.. Both boys had parents that had gotten divorced and so they knew marriage is no guarantee of the "living happily ever after". Like Haruki said: Even if we can not get married, I will stay by your side. That is the only thing that really matters. (No matter if the couple is straight or gay.)

Well no, that's not quite accurate. They did give you a heads-up about it being over the top. The entire drama…
@JUSTICIA Seriously, why are you so aggressive?? I recommend you start meditating regularily, it helps. You obviously need to relax. I am here to read comments of the drama and I want to see everyones point of views, if you are not describing the plot in detail then it should not be hidden under the "spoiler tag", cause I won't read those. Honestly you are attacking people for nothing. This place it not only for you, it is equally for everyone with any and every opinion.

@JUSTICIA OMG, why so aggressive style to write?? This is about dramas and some created fantacy world, no need to be so serious..

I just watched up to episode 10 and what the heck was that? An user below suggested I watch until episode 7 and…
@DragonBall I have been watching lots of K- and J-dramas over the years (close to 200 K-dramas and atleast 100 J-dramas) and I think the biggest problem in K-dramas is that they have this obsession of certain amount of episodes. So often they make a drama - which Japanese would use around 10-12 episodes max. - to last 16 episodes by force, eventhoug the story would be better cut shorter. I guess it has something to do with the channels where the dramas are shown, they want dramas that have certain amount of episodes, but I have seen so many K-dramas that were interesting in the beginning and then became boring or weird cause they had to force extra storylines for it to last longer. So the same story would have been really good, if it was cut to less eps. I tried to watch this (Love Next Door) because of the actors, but found it too pretentious for my taste.
Replying to Shannon Brown Jan 11, 2025
Ouch! Why? I am episode two and enjoying it.
I tried to watch it beacause I have seen both leads acting in good dramas before, but I am only in the 2. ep and this feels too pretentious for me. Lately I have been watching more J-dramas and they often dive very deep and the characters feel more like real and ordinary people.. So I am wondering if it is because of that I don't really like this or is it really this drama itself.. Like should I try to watch it further.. ?

as someone who HATED the original drama (esp the jaeeon character), is this worth giving a try?a friend of mine…
How funny.. I liked the Korean Nevertheless and still think it is one of their best romantic dramas. Most of K-dramas are complitely unrealistic fantacies which do not relate to the real world/relationships at all. Surely nice entertainment, but only that. Nevertheless was really realistic and could easily have been someone's real story.
