I’m guessing when Cotton Candy debuted (6 years ago), the industry wasn’t so keen of the idea of having idols debut at a younger age and the fact that they were a smaller company should pin point Hyunji around 17-18 at the time. She should be 23/24 rn.

It's assuming that this was probably filmed around the covid breakout... since most Chinese dramas get held in the dungeon for a while before being released (sometimes they get pushed back because of other titles being in demand or what other networks are releasing.)

The story was based of a very popular Thai movie. If you watched it, you would think the FL in this drama adaption is more reasonable. I'm guessing from a standpoint, being tanned isn't something to be ashamed of but it's the fact that lighter skin is more preferred due to beauty standards caused by imperialism. I think what the drama was trying to depict is that her curly hair was a mess and didn't compliment her features as well.

You should watch Pretty Li Hui Zhen (same idea but it's in the office setting), I promise, this drama will trigger you more than this one. XD

it's okay, like if you are looking for some dramas that revolve around misunderstandings and getting back together to take out the enemy, i would say it's around a 8/10 for that department.
