Oh, i thought they said "I like you", from the translation from Dramacool. Then nothing was resolved, so they…
As per drama storyline, they've known each other since college; Mizuki made that proposal 3 years ago; they started living (and sleeping) together 4 months ago.
The closest confession in the drama is when Mizuki read that manga line to Yoh (who didn't get he was confessed to).
In the manga, Yoh admitted his feelings while saying the opposite (he said he hates Mizuki, which is 'I like you' in Mizuki's interpretation).
Well, it's not that nothing is resolved; both lack communication skills, but maybe inside their hearts they already know how they feel about each other even without any cheesy confession.
Watched the show real time, and happened to stumbled upon Gagaoolala's version. Do not trust that translation. Lots of mis- and out of context translation. They didn't confess (said 'like' to each other) prior to their s*x 🫠 (the '好きじゃん' and '好きかも' lines) in ep 8. I saw some posts getting the wrong idea about that scene. 😵
As someone commented, 'toxic' 'abusive' are being overused (or misused) by some viewers of this drama. Mizuki…
To add: the manga was smutty in nature so when the LA was announced, I wondered how it will be toned down.
I am pleasantly surprised and satisfied how the LA is loyal to the manga, even with original contents and 'drama' elements. The actors are not only gorgeous, they also give justice to their characters. They deserve praise for their performance ❤️
As someone commented, 'toxic' 'abusive' are being overused (or misused) by some viewers of this drama. Mizuki is possessive, most probably because of his insecurities. In the manga, he thought that Yoh might leave him and go for girls since he thinks Yoh originally likes girls (he draws them and admits he likes boobs 😗). Yoh also admits that he's crazy himself for liking what Mizuki is doing to him.
In his narration during their college days, Yoh said that he doesn't expect to be liked by Mizuki; but he might die if he gets hated by him. I think such feeling didn't change after they started living together.
Despite his inner complaints, I guess he follows Mizuki because he doesn't want to be hated. (Thinking of himself as a slave was just his excuse lol; he just really likes Mizuki)
Indeed it's a communication problem, but hey who doesn't like tropes and dramas 🫠
