Joo Yeo Jung's mother was indeed MOTHER. She was charismatic and really likeable. I loved the male lead's family.
I agree. She gets the "Mother of the Yea" award for how supportive she was of her son. Even when she knew he was helping with MDE her revenge she just supported him. I also like that she didn't back down when the dirty cop tried manipulate the situation so that body would be brought out of the freezer and eventually decay.
I love revenge dramas and this one hit the mark. The cast all did a great job to include the bullies of which the revenge was targeted. I couldn't wait to see how things played out, which made this in my opinion, a binge worthy watch. As mentioned in other comments, there were some not necessary scenes but everything played out very well. I love that both the mom and daughter were sent to prison, and that all the so called friends, turned against one another. The one thing of mention is that I feel that MDE's mom got off too light. She was such a terrible mom and drunk but all she got was being confined to a medical facility. MDE's teacher and all the other teachers were just awful. How the heck can teachers just stand around and watch a student get beat up and not even bat an eye or protect her? They all failed her and any other student that was being bullied by the group of kids. The only redeeming factor was the nurse who tried to help her. In regards to the romance aspect. I like how it was very subtle and didn't overwhelm the storyline. One of my favorite characters was HDY because while he really tried his best to love his bully of a wife. He was smart enough to not let that love blind him. He was careful in controlling his emotions until he was actually provoked and then he did things his way. Overall, this is a great kdrama. I am glad I waited until both Parts were out before watching it. It was worth the loss of sleep over the weekend.
I finally finished this one after dropping it several times. It was actually pretty good. The plot was worth watching and the main leads had pretty good chemistry. I have admit that I liked the second ML better because he showed that he really loved the female ML regardless of her flaws and even understood her secret. The drama has mystery, romance, comedy and thrills. I recommend watching it but maybe only watching half of the last episode. It becomes a little dumb halfway through the last episode and the writers took the main leads relationship and just made it garbage. The ending could have been way better.
It was awesome until the last episode ruined it kind of
I totally agree. The last episode was terrible for the main leads at least. I just don't understand why the writers took there chemistry and just threw it out the window. .
I am currently on episode 17 out of 24. I have to admit, the drama is really good but very slow. I've had to walk away just to give myself a break from the slow pace. I think everything could have been resolved in 16 episodes to pick up the pace a little faster. Overall, it is a good watch but not something that should be binged watched. I love how the writers made the characters so unlikable. Especially the old man and the JMR. I cannot wait to see them all go down.
I finished the drama finally, it took a minute due to the pacing. I felt like I was watching a drama in slow motion. The acting overall was spot on. I do wish Na Mo Hyun had more than two facial expressions, because it would have been great to see more emotion from her. I did love the character development of Jang Boo Cheon. I do have questions however, on what happen to some of the characters. Fore example, I know that Na Mo Hyun remained at the Foundation and Kang Pil Joo ended up running for the chairman position. But it would have been nice to know whether there was an additional Jang brother and if he went to prison for stabbing Pil Joo. Who got the chairman position? Also, I think that the revenge aspect was a little weak. It would have been better if the entire organization was taken down.
I just finished the drama. While the acting was pretty good. I think the script writers made a bet on how dumb they can make Ma Ri. The decisions she made throughout the drama was just over the top silly. Going to see her mom every time she got a call. Staying in the same place as her abusive husband when she is so traumatized that she shakes in fear when she sees him. You have to watch it to see it but there were so many times that I just wanted to shake her silly. I felt like she was just jumping up and down and telling her abusive husband "it's me" "it's me"! I have no words for how poorly written this drama is. It is one of those dramas that you just put on for background noise and barely pay attention to it because it will frustrate you.
I have only made it to episode 6 but already the FL is getting on my nerves. I understand the PTSD from being with someone who is abusive and there is nothing that she can do about it because she has no power, per se, however, I also feel that she could lessen the suspicion by acting with confidence. What I mean is that every time she runs into her abusive husband even with plastic surgery, she freaks out make it very obvious that she fears him, hence she knows him. For him, it makes something about her very familiar. Why stay in Seoul? That was also a puzzling question. Silly mistakes like going to see her mom without wearing a disguise and leaving even painting her mom and leaving it at the rooftop home, she is just asking to be caught. So far, it is not too terrible, I just hope the mains get smarter in their decision making.
Why do i see so many people here complaining about the last 2 episodes?.... am i the only one who thought those…
I'm not complaining at all. At first I was going to drop this because I really don't like the push pull that kdramas put into romcoms. It's pretty annoying and immature in my opinion. Given that the main couple is older it would have been even more boring to watch 16 episodes of two older people fumble over each other then break up, move far away and not have contact then just quickly get back together as is the norm in kdrama romcoms. I've enjoyed the added aspect of a thriller and the attention that was given to how parents overwork their children just to fulfil their own dreams.
I dropped the show about six months ago due to the first episode being so boring. I kept hearing how great the show was but I just didn't see it. I am glad I dropped it and picked it up when the Season was complete and I was in between kdramas. In short, I binged watched this kdrama. It got better after the second episode. The ML and FL showed throughout the drama that although they were in a contract marriage the really cared for one another and trusted each other. I loved that the FL was strong on her own but she still wanted the backup up of the ML. In regard to the side characters. At first I did not like the LTC but he proved to be bad ass after he got his conscience back. I think that everyone played their role quite well and the endings for each was fitting. That is except for the two that were murdered. To say the least, I think this is worth the watch if you are not looking for steamy romance topped with over the top zombie effects. It's an interesting storyline that made me question what I would do in the same situation. As well as what does it take to lose your humanity.
First episode was a complete snooze fest that I considered dropping this drama but I forced myself to watch the…
ML is chubby? He looked pretty athletic with just enough muscle to make his casting believable. This was not a role where the ML was required to be handsome and well put together. He's a detective and civil servant not a CEO.
Really dislike when main characters treat extras as expendable. The ML/FL are mad at the military guy for keeping…
In my opinion, I don't think they knew the extent of the virus and the damage it could create just yet. At that point, they didn't know that the once a person was bitten, they would turn infected and have the disease. Plus, the FL, she has antibodies and can't get the virus, so she thinks everyone will be cured. She showed as much when she went with her co worker to the dorm for a check up and told him that he would be fine. As far as the ML, he thinks the virus comes from taking the drugs and hasn't seen a case where someone is bitten and then turned mad.
The story is pretty good and the acting is perfect. Still their "no matter what even if they kill, bit us still…
I think they want to leave it up to the imagination. For Gook, I want to believe that when he left the building to seek medical attention, it was in enough time to save his life. In regards to the Lt. Col. I think he and his wife had a happy ending because he mentioned that he gave the last shot of antidote that would save her life. Also, because he found another person with antibodies to the virus, he was probably given a pass for all of the misdeeds he did. The Lt. Col wasn't a bad person in general, he was just looking out for himself and his sick wife initially.
The cutest scene was when the ML and FL went shopping together in the early morning hour he pulled her cart for her and as she was shopping for cabbage, she she her purse off to him so that she could pick up the cabbage and inspect it. That was such a cute scene.
I am excited for the next few episodes now that the truth of NHS's relationship status has been revealed and Mr. Choi is free to pursue her and be the tutor of Hae Yi. This is also possible since he is no longer a part of the Pride academy. I hope in the next episode the Director is begging Mr. Choi to come back because the new math tutor is not working out and not just the mother's but the students are mad about how he was pushed out of the academy. But, he doesn't come back and opens his own academy. I also would love to see Soo Ah's mother being forced to apologize for her writing the posts that exposed Mr. Choi because she and the other mothers find out that her own husband is having an affair.
In regards to the mystery/thriller part, I think that Mr. Choi's assistant is the one going around killing students and the math teacher but recluse brother is going to take the blame initially. There a just enough episodes to really make this a great kdrama if the wrap it up nicely.
It's refreshing to see Cha Eun Woo play a non romantic role. I was concerned he would be type casted into playing just those types of roles. In this drama he has more action scenes and well, he is a priest (although a very handsome priest). It doesn't get any unromantic as that. LOL. I like the series so far, but I really don't think that the show should have been split into two parts. I think this a new trend that is going around for Kdramas as I am noticing an uptick in dramas with a Season 2.
I think I got to episode five before I just had to give up. I don't understand any of it nor did I find any of it funny. I was really had high hopes because I really like Yoon Park and I loved Jin Goo in Descendants of the Sun.
Can anyone tell me if this is worth the watch. I watched the first episode and honestly had a hard time following it. I want to keep watching it but is it worth it?
