I think his comment on Hye Yoon's visual was not properly interpreted. He didn't like the original look of Im Sol and felt it didn't suit her and that her "visuals" needed an upgrade. The original style meant for Im Sol did not suit the first love concept so he made a few tweaks to her style, to better suit her character.
