Article Why do people usually choose K-dramas over J-dramas?
I watch both, however, I found myself after 2010 falling out of Jdramas. I'm VERY sad about this. I think my reasons are because a lot of the more recent Jdramas the plot lines have very predictable protagonists who have a very obvious flaw that must be fixed, and politically charged. A lot of them awkwardly try to push a point so hard when subtlety usually gets the point across in narratives more for me. It's either that or a clunky live action of a manga. Don't get me wrong I will always be down for Kimura Takuya or Matsujun in ANYTHING. I even miss Oguri Shun. Kimura Takuya made me swoon back in the 90 and early 2000-10s, but those writing styles that swept me in such as "Long Vacation" "Hanakimi" and the hilarious harry potter music in "Hana Yori Dango" are long gone and the type of writing that is being pushed now is stiff and clunky IMO. I do want to go and watch XXXholic :)
