@RomanticRosebud_BL, if you're labeling the "new" guy, Qu Yi Peng, as toxic, could you elaborate on why he's deemed "toxic" or, as others have said, a "gold digger" just for befriending a woman at his workplace? Up to episode 3, I haven't seen any behavior that fits those descriptions. I'm quite interested in your viewpoint. :)

@Haruu, at the end of ep. 3, we were led to believe Gao Peng has realized that He Zhi Nan isn't for him. Hope he gets a much better and mature one. (Watching Zhi Nan tantrum scenes was torture for me).

@jpny01 I am interested in how this adaptation will show the relationship and influences of teachers Zhao and Lin compared to those in the novel.

For a male viewer like me, this series has quite good pacing as I didn't need to fast forward much. I am surprised I like this better than the Chinese remake although the Chinese version has more relevant cultural aspects that resonate with me. But, the Chinese version is too melodramatic for male viewers like me. Does anyone know of a translated novel similar to this?

@ariel alba Thank you so much for explaining why you like this in detail. I just wish more members do this instead of giving vague superlative words.

I also find it vague. I heard from the drama that he was offered to do cases together whenever opportunities come, not hired full-time. So from my perception, he's just wearing suits for cases as they come. Since the drama doesn't focus on him, it doesn't show where else he can live if not at Mao's and his family home.

(For me), I was expecting MCH to reunite with Xin Jia Liang in the end.

@Okaybabe Please share if the comments were from those of Chinese descent. I'd consider this character typical for Chinese descent parents, especially those of the old/older generation. Of course, my parents aren't that extreme.

He can't be according to the story presented so far. Jong Mo has done a background check on him and should have recognized if Tae Oh's mother was his mistress.

@Ivy I also agree that unless one is an avid manga reader, he (or she) won't know that label. Also, I notice that many Korean and Japanese series are adaptations of mangas. I was using it to differentiate it from the BL genre, which most, if not all women audiences, know. And reading postings on this platform, I see a lot of members use manga labels to describe their opinions on series. "Bara" is not represented in this series (so far), but the comraderie between the MLs (and business elements in the story) interest me more than enough to continue watching.

@Ivy I know. It's rare to find Bara-themed series that can sustain commercially. Bromance is highly available but does not get labeled here much. My preference for these is because both have elements of (grounded) reality. So for example, I will settle for bromance,but definitely not BL. Thanks for checking. I was just making an analogy using these terms because it seems many members are familiar with them. (I don't like mangas either). :)
