I wanted to give it a chance, so I've watched 10 episodes, but I can't stand it any more. Dropping it. They took out all of the quirky and fun stuff. Go watch the 2007 Japanese version. It is infinitely better.
well my hair turned gray while waiting for the second season of the anime ! I hope it won't be the same for this…
Actually, Nakamura-sensei recently said on her Twitter that there will not be a second season of the anime. Kinda sad, but at the same time it's nice to have a definitive answer after so many years.
I don't think that there will be a second season for several reasons.
1. The drama left off at about ch79 of the manga (give or take a few plot points). The manga, which started in 2002, is currently on ch186 and there's still a *lot* to be resolved. I'm sure that Skip Beat won't end for at least a couple more years.
2. Some of the decisions they made with the drama prevent the story from evolving the way it does in the manga. These deviations were meant to provide at least some level of closure, but even if they managed to fudge it a bit more I can't see a way back. (I won't go into the details because I don't want this to be a spoiler comment.)
3. Casting. I'm amazed they managed to get both Siwon and Donghae in the first place. A second time would be a miracle.
Here's hoping the Korean version (with TOP) is actually produced. Outperforming Ivy will be hard, though.
