I know there’s a theory that the king already knows that Mongwoo is a woman but with today’s episode I think that theory was debunked. If he knew she was a woman he would have never sent forth the royal command of treating her wound. If the royal physician found out a rumor would most likely spread about Mongwoo’s gender - leading to more problems for her - which the king ultimately wants to avoid. I think he’s out of the know like everyone else and will only know if there’s definitive proof or she tells him. I guess we have to continue suspending our disbelief for this one guys.

I’d say everyone is aware of it. It’s very obvious especially since everyone knew beforehand that the former king was not fond of his brother towards the end. How would it make sense that he appointed him as king over his son with that kind of sentiment? It was also mentioned outright in the drama as well.

I don’t think it’s a wrong move. I think she’s keeping him near her purposefully bc she wants to enact her revenge on him as well. I think if anything goes wrong with her revenge on the king she can throw all the blame on him like he did to her with the note he forged. Remember, she and the king move 10 moves ahead of everyone else ;)

I believe it was mentioned in the drama no? To expose the fact the king lied to get the position. Once that fact is revealed he will be deposed and hung for treason.

I, personally, wouldn’t call it lazy writing mostly because we need more context from future episodes to really make that decision. I think that it’ll probably be explained that his mad king persona is a front for all the court officials.
