Exactly! to me, it felt like FL only liked him because he was nice to her... and im pretty sure ML was 20 at the time they met, which was normal back then, but it's still weird knowing that he fell in love with a teenager.

I just finished part 2 and the entire drama was really good. I really really love them, but am i the only one who is still kinda iffy about their relationship? His love was really genuine but i never really understood how he fell in love with her. Of course it was love at first sight but then again, they never really interacted lots after that. And even when they got engaged, he was telling her what to not do and basically reprimanding her one day and the next he was alright? I mean he was really smitten with her but still it was weird how he switched up so fast... and also when he abandoned her toward the end, he said their fate would end there and he wanted to die. But as soon as shaoshang wanted to break off the engagement after, he was like "let me explain." Did he want her tied to him forever or smtg even when he was dead? But putting that aside THEY WERE SOSOOS CUTEEE! he was always wearing that pendant of hers that she dropped around his neck and the SHAOSHANG STRING AROUND HIS WRIST!!! before he "died" on the cliff, he woke up said her name and then he passed out i canttt. tbh though i wanted more groveling from him. he was ready to just leave her alone, imagine her pain if he had actually died. I had such mixed feelings bc of his betrayal but they need and love eo
