Calling #EstherYu the “Queen of C-drama” because of that exaggerated baby voice is honestly wild. Acting is more than pouting, squeaking lines in a bubbly tone, and repeating the same cute persona in every drama. That is not emotional depth. That is a gimmick.
If the standard for “excellent acting” is a nasal baby voice and constant overacting, then the bar is really on the floor. Real emotional acting requires range, control, and believable delivery. Not cartoonish reactions and cutesy expressions every five minutes.
Using her as the benchmark for strong acting only makes the review sound like a fan rant, not a serious critique.
OMG i have read all of these novels except Counterattack of the Cannon Fodder Chambermaid, will add it to my reading list. it seem we have the same taste :)
From all the books i have ever read, Deposed Empress General was the best, but i like the new version though, the original was too painful to read. It have the same vibe like legend of Chu qiao aka princess agent but their fate was opposite
