I'm on episode 19 and I'm deeply disappointed in Li Tongguang. The actor does a good job, kudos. But the writing of the character is one-dimensional, his actions and personality were completely predictable to me. It's a shame because as a character he could have had authentic complexity if the writers had put more dedication into him, especially being Ruyi's disciple.
I expected Li Tongguang to rival Ruyi in skill, but he's just THE typical character with erratic actions and an obsession.
