My question is how did lu anran walk through mu chen and mu chen could not see her?
That was probably to save episode time and make of use artistic license - there was passage of time between her leaving and Mu Chuan arriving to see she had been there. He had just missed her leaving and it was overlayed.
Yeah that's a pity, hopefully they will come out soon. Season 1 had a version with Vietnamese subs on YouTube that you can change to auto-translate to another language; they were pretty decent. Season 2 is probably too fresh for any to be out for awhile :(
Great article! It’s interesting to see the progression of bans over the years and you hit on so many of the things I slowly discovered as I got into these dramas. I’m curious if you know why most shows seem to be 1 season, of vastly varying lengths. From what I understand, they are now limited to 50 episodes and must be fully produced before airing, so the censors can review them (and no more like Addicted Heroin (2016) slip by them). Also, when did those really short, vertical films begin to happen? I’ve seen some that look like they’re long but each episode is only 2-6 min, so it ends up being more like a movie than a TV series.
This was a nice walk down memory lane. I grew up watching Journey to the West (1986), New Legend of White Snake (1992), and Justice Bao (1993). I remember Princess Pearl (1998) was all the rage and even my grandma was really into it. I then came across Warriors of the Yang Clan (2004) in college and that was the last show I watched until 2020, when I got back into cdramas. Many of the shows you listed are on my list and I look forward to getting caught up on what I missed all those years.
Actually i was searching for exactly that genre. Was always disappointed by the ones i watched so far. Started…
Haha, serendipity! It just occurred to me to start listing them since I’ve seen a few now. These are off the top of my head, I will go through my list and see what others there may be to include.

Which ones have you seen?
