I didn't give it full marks mostly cause of the last second resolution. I know it's common in jbl, but I hate it so much. Show us more what they're like when they're already dating! It makes it feel unfinished.
idk if you were up to the previous comments and discussions but GT and WL story from the beginning and from the…
The show doesn't have to follow the novel word for word. I can't really understand why the creators of the show didn't anticipate people wanting to get more GT and SWL than the novel provided. There were many filler scenes that could've been cut in favour of giving us a more rounded story of the second couple. I've seen a lot of discussion around this topic and I disagree that if the novel provided just this, then it's fine for the show to have such an unsatisfying ending. It's an adaptation after all.
I thought this would be a 10/10, but the rushed ending and the criminal lack of GT and SWL made me drop the rating. Such an unsatisfying way to end a series.
It started out so strong, just to drag it out at the end. Tbh, I wish there was less of whatever that was and more of actually completing the list. Imo the conflict could've been resolved much faster.
I'm wondering what the second couple shared that would make you go “They're completely in love with each other.”…
They both care about each other. GT doing very dangerous thing just to be close to SWL, be by his side and support him. SWL despite having zero filter and saying awful things, also cares for GT as shown through him taking care of him when he's sick, or when he just ordered to change all the lights on the freaking street. Both emotionally constipated, but have a long history and genuine affection towards each other.
I'm kinda meh about the main couple cause there's no real connection between them. Sheng is falling for a fake Hua and Hua seems to be motivated by his own agenda that has little to do with genuine feelings. I get that he is a psycho and I love how unhinged he is, but their relationship is very surface level so it's hard to be rooting for a happy ending for them. Especially when on the other hand we have a second couple struggling with very real feelings. At this point I'm watching this for them not the main couple.
I love it. Main leads have great chemistry, the brother is sibling goals, the friends are the best support, amazing parents, overall great story. I like how it focused on the relationship itself and how they deal with issues that come their way.
any update? lowkey tired of wasting my time on dramas that are boring and go nowhere that makes me feel like i…
Thank you! I stopped at ep. 6 and dropped it. I might watch it in the future if I run out of other stuff. I finished a few shows like this before and it actually helped.
I loved this so much! All the characters grew and learned about themselves, it was a ver ysatisfying journey. The acting was great, the swapped characters were convincing and I actually enjoyed the dynamic they had between them. I got so emotional by the end, highly recommend.
I'm on ep 6 and nothing has happened yet. This is so boring and the slow pace makes me think there's gonna be some dramatic and not very well paced ending...
He can quit if it's too much for him. Make space for other celebs who get what it's about.
That's a weird and very backward way of thinking. No one is entitled to others' private life just cause they're fans. It's also so weird to think that he should "make space" for other celebs... If there are other talented actors out there, they don't need to worry about others having quit for them to be successful. And they're most likely in the same situation as well, wishing those creeps left them alone. What those fans are doing should be treated as a crime that it is, not something celebs should silently accept in exchange of fame.
This might be my favourite show of 2024. The way I cried by the end of it... The actors were amazing, the stories were amazing. It was such a rollercoaster of emotion and suspense. I'm in love with this show.
It's a very good show, but it sparked a thought about the "I should tell X about Y" trope and how I wish more shows subverted that trope into characters actually talking about issues without the unnecessary blow out at the end followed by a break up, followed by a teary apology, followed by a reconciliation and happy ending.
It was so bad it was hilarious, but then two last episodes happened. What Patrick did in ep. 7 made me dislike him so much and all his gaslighting in ep. 8 made me not want to root for him at all. Not to mention that all of what he did was literally pointless from the plot point of view, unless the creators of the show wanted to paint him as a bad person. Which is weird given he's supposed to be the main love interest.
I loved this episode. The way Atom was going through it... so touching. I'm seeing a huuuge improvement from the first episodes. It's much more natural now and I can see the chemistry. Adorable
This was really good, but it would be much better if they had more time to develop the plot further and if they didn't switch the actor. I'd rather suspend my disbelief and have the same actor despite the time passing instead of dealing with two actors playing the same character.
