Go Ahead's actress was way better. All these South Korean actresses only get hired based on looks. Is there a…
I’ve seen many great Korean dramas and actresses. I will say though that Seven Tan the actress who played the Chinese version main lead was Incredible! She showed so much depth in the character. Particularly in the scenes where she was playing a teenager, even her voice inflections we higher and her responses were like a teen. Then she seamlessly aged up into an adult she managed to keep the same spark to her character while still being an adult. I like some of the changes of this new Kdrama version but the acting in the Cdrama was better.
yes , she even locked to minors in the house unattended !!! because of this one is dead . this is called MANSLAUGHTER…
That’s what I’m saying!! I remember thinking this watching the C Drama version years ago. Basically screaming at my tv every time she comes on scream that she should be in Jail!!! lol ugh this story has all the feels lol
ok serious question I feel like they left out of both versions. How is the mother not in jail for negligence for her daughters death? She left 2 small children alone in a house for hours and one died, in any jurisdiction that should be gross negligence which is a crime right?
I do agree that Ju Won is less annoying than Jian Jian in Go Ahead but for me that is exactly what was missing…
I understand, Personally still feel FL in Go Ahead was more realistic to me. I didnt find her bratty I just found her childish and stunted. I felt sorry for her more than anything else. Also maybe because we saw more of their teenage years than we will with this story because Go Ahead had more episodes. But I could see how the FL in this version could be more palatable for some. To each there own!
As for ML in Go Ahead agree 100%!! He has a ton of emotional trauma that he needed to address, having a mother like that explains it but I also didn’t love their romantic relationship in Go Ahead. It felt to me like he emotionally blackmailed FL into being with him like his mom did to him. I am very curious to see how this remake develops that story line and if it will play out the same way.
i don't understand the hate for ju won when in the chinese version she was x1000 times more annoying and childish…
I do agree that Ju Won is less annoying than Jian Jian in Go Ahead but for me that is exactly what was missing from this remake. Jian Jian was “annoying” awkward and childish because she grew up with zero female influences in her life that I think, would have helped her mature better if she had a mom to help guide her. So I think it’s realistic for her to be a little stunted. Everyone focuses on how the 2 boys don’t have a mom but she grew up without a mom too and I think the actress that played Jian Jian showed that so well in Go Ahead. I think people say Go Ahead is a masterpiece because the acting was soooo good. Each actor brought so much nuance to the character. Don’t get me wrong I like what I’m seeing in the remake. If I were being honest again so far I like San Ha’s reaction to his mother coming back better than the Go Aheads version. I like how he stood up for himself more than the Go Ahead character I felt. it’s impossible not to compare, there’s plenty to appreciate in both!
Well the new Korean remake Family By Choice reignited my desire to look into this drama again. I won’t go into comparing the overall series to the original, I know it’s only 16 episodes versus 40+. The only comparison so far I will make is that Go Ahead made me feel things no drama had ever made me feel. To this day (including the first few episode of the remake) it’s still some of the best acting performances I have ever seen! Seven Tans protral of Li Jian Jian was incredible! when she was the awkward teenager I truly believed she was and she played that part so well. Then when she aged up she kept the same spark to the character. Can’t for get the amazing acting from the rest of the cast too especially the dads. I cried the hardest at some of their scenes. and still to this day I can’t watch a drama with the actress who played Ling xiao mom without feeling the rage I felt at her character lol. All in all this drama is truly a masterpiece led by an amazingly talented group of actors. If the Korean remake can match it I’m all for it but the bar is set so high!
ummm intentionally flirting with her sisters husband in the first life I would call intentionally hurtful. especially…
That’s how you can tell the characters were well written. They each had depth to them which could lead to multiple perspectives. kudos to the writers on this one! An awesome drama from beginning to end!
ummm intentionally flirting with her sisters husband in the first life I would call intentionally hurtful. especially…
Yoora did treat her badly very badly. she treated everyone bad that’s why she had no friends except the one guy she flirted with cause he was obsessed with her and she liked the ego boost and the fact that it clearly hurt her sister. She even said people only do things for themselves all she does is use people for her own benefit. she had a very long list of people she hurt besides Yijoo too. plus Yoora kept saying that her and her mother treated Yijoo so terribly cause Yijoo needed to be kept in her place. Yoora definitely had it coming not only for how she treated Yijoo but also how she used used and mistreated everyone around her. She has her mother to thank for learning that behavior she got exactly what she deserved.

Yoora definitely knew what she was doing that’s why her true character came out more in the second life. she was always that way it’s just Yijoo finally was able to stand up for herself the second time around. of course she wasn’t brave enough the first time to do anything but the second time she finally had backers to help her take everyone down. Yooras problem is exactly what Do Guk said it was. Yoora knew Yijoo shined brighter than she did and she couldn’t deal with that and let her jealousy overtake her and let it lead to her downfall. I do agree that towards the end she does see the error of her and her mothers ways. although Im doubtful it’s enough to not keep reapting the same mistakes again.
In the end i liked YooRa character so much. It doesn't matter she is good person or not but gives me a vibe she…
ummm intentionally flirting with her sisters husband in the first life I would call intentionally hurtful. especially because she didn’t flirt with him because she liked him she just did it because it hurt her sister and called Se hyuk crazy at the gallery for thinking that her flirting with him meant she would ever be with him. she’s not as bad as her mom as she’s not a murderer lol. but she’s definitely her mothers daughter. the revenged against her was warranted
Because it’s wrong on all levels. The FL didn’t have any justification for keeping her son from his dad. The…
@j_asm_ine Lol because that’s the point of comments and reviews. I always wait to watch a drama to check the reviews first to make a determination on whether or not I’m going to watch a drama. if there’s going to be an annoying troupe I don’t like or an irritating character. I clearly should have done more research with this drama lol. Some people like certain characters others don’t. I’m very clearly not the only one that had issue with the FL either. I just don’t like the way the writer protrayed the character. I felt the writers overlooked and tried to justify serious character flaws on her part that’s all. She lied to him a lot, and her decisions were very questionable to me. Also she didn’t know he wouldn’t provide structure for her son she assumed that. if she communicated with him even writing him a letter or something and he never responded that’s on him. but she should have told him some how. He was a really good parent. The drama wasn’t realistic to me and it annoyed me, just my opinion. I loved both actors in other works though. the ML acting in Imperial coroner was awesome! highly recommend that one! Enjoy!
I have never seen so much hate for one female fictional character before. for example if you watch this on Viki…
Because it’s wrong on all levels. The FL didn’t have any justification for keeping her son from his dad. The decision was not in the best interest of her son it was in her best interest because her feelings got hurt. from the second he knew that was his son he dropped everything to be the best dad he could be and didn’t even hold it against her that he missed his sons first steps firsts words because she wanted to be selfish. it’s not right that she weponized her son and even after they developed a relationship still seperated them after seeing a document about custody and didn’t even talk to him first. He legally had every right to go for custody if he wanted to and likely would have won if he did. FL was wrong on every front.
Gosh Ling Xiao, the more ep goes, the more I despise the way he behaves, the way he forced his feeling towards…
I agree with everything you said about the relationship between Ling Xiao and Jian Jian. I will say in my opinion I don't believe his actions were on purpose. His mother broke him. Ugh I hate his mother she's horrid! But the overbearing selfish love he is showing is the only way he knows how to show love because that's how his mother loved him. Her love was selfish and needy and in turn so is his because that's what he knows. The only time he ever felt any other type of love was from Jian Jian and her dad so he clings to it for dear life because that's the only time in his life he's ever been happy. I agree I would have rather them not had the romantic relationships between the siblings at all because I feel it was a whole mess. I wish they just showed a family drama with both boys healing from their horrible given families and blending into a loving extended family. That would have been a lot better for me.
