i think it's their eyes and face shape?? they both have beautiful, large eyes. plus FL's styling here reminds me a lot of meng ziyi's makeup and styling for blossom. in certain angles, i can't shake off the resemblance

im only on ep 2 and while i admit that im mostly here for HMH, i also have to say that FL is really pretty. i totally see now why people say she has a resemblance with ao ruipeng and they could pass as siblings. to my eyes, she also has a bit of resemblance with meng ziyi - both of them are super pretty.

anyhow!! idk how this fairs against the unclouded soul. I'm not in the mood for wuxia so i haven't touched that yet but so far, this seems pretty interesting. always love me a cunning (and kinda gray) FL. and tbh i feel like ML's accident is not so accident. obviously it's a scheme against him but why do i feel like he knew something was gonna happen and just went with it?? i feel he's too smart to actually fall for it. he's definitely not up to anything good and im here to watch the show 😂

i was stupid to be influenced by the mixed reviews and put this on my watch list for a long time. now i just started but i already love their chemistry. i think FL has got to have one of the best chemistry with zhang linghe

still on ep 5 and i think the ex-husband's insecurity makes sense bc FL is really outstanding, but instead of talking it out with FL, he let it grow into hatred and even cheated on her. FL deserves someone who would be proud of what she puts on the table!! not an egotistic scumbag grrrr

this is my dilemma too, especially in the earlier eps. ML really cared about og zhang mo, too.

and we don't have to. i still think he needs to repent and be punished for that but i like how his character is growing. he's such a gray character and im enjoying it

me seeing her as a "baddie" is a general opinion, it's not just about her chasing after ML.

isn't the whole point of her pining and running after him so that he will hopefully, eventually reciprocate her feelings? it's not pathetic to me bc I empathize with her in a way. maybe you just like or love differently from her so you find her actions pathetic. if you were in her shoes, maybe you would have acted differently, but some people will persist and keep trying like she does. she's not stopping because she finds a thrill in his rejections - she's being challenged and she might be thinking that the reward is sweeter after all her efforts. she's kinda weird and quite crazy but that's part of her character's charm

anyhow, she's one of the more complex characters here if you look past her infatuation with the ML, even more complex than the FL atp. that's mainly why i like her. i think there's still a lot to unpack with her.

it's an opinion. that's how i see her at least. she goes after what she likes. she tries her best in her own way, and she does not give up. how is it pathetic? her methods might not be the best or the correct one but it's the way she knows. she likes him and he was single. it's even more pathetic if she chased after someone who's married. she was just trying to get ML to like her.

ML was also yearning for FL for years, even longer than the time wan qing chased after him, but no one calls him pathetic.

that's why i was saying "IF I WAS" i'm not pushing her towards the ML heck she deserves better if ML still ignores her after chasing after him for so long

writer gods please don't make wan qing intolerable in the future. honestly, i really like her. she's my fave character so far. i just don't get it - if i was the FL, i would have a crush on wan qing, and if i was the ML, i would still have a crush on wan qing. she's such a baddie

the fight scenes are really good. it's been a while since i watched something with such intense fighting and not obviously fake ones 😂

Not just you, I agree. ML is too mature for FL. The way I see it, FL's thoughts of saving him are all flowers and butterflies, but she doesn't really understand the things he's been through. She's from a place of privilege and she can't really empathize with him fully. But some spoilers say she's gonna mature after the angst arc so I'm still giving this a chance.

right??? she's so valid. i hope the writers don't fail her character, it has so much potential
