Check out what the novel writer said about the drama adaptation: https://twitter.com/fandoestrans/status/1718554031638130825?t=DbKEc-vkGt1A22dhI4J9HQ&s=19
I seem to be quite the odd one out who was not a fan of the romance, too much romance for me that didn’t really…
I liked the CP because of their fantastic chemistry and strong/healthy communication. Their moments together turned me into a silly fan girl :) But I think all the other secondary romances were unnecessary and could have been better spent on other story elements.
Totally agree with you on JZ and GS. JZ's resolution was the quickest way to solve a complicated issue, and I do feel cheated there. As for GS, I felt like they were trying to stuff in every last cool bit of the fantasy world but unfortunately mishandled it.
Feels like the final showdown at the Black Stone City would have been less of a let down had they not sped up…
Agree with both of you. Plus they overused flashbacks (especially the one with Long Zhi attacking YLX and JZ). It's such a shame we didn't see the Golden Scorpion in action, either. I was expecting something great after that big reveal. Maybe all the money was spent on the roosters instead.
The episodes were around 30 minutes, excluding credits, from the start. The drama profile has 45 minutes, which…
They introduced the characters and the world slowly but surely in the beginning. The pacing definitely has picked up now. Hope that attracts more viewers :)
(I'm hoping someone will translate the original work into English at some point.)
