Major spoilers: She was collecting props on a beach and somehow ended up in the water, then somehow ended up in the hands of a gang or criminal group. Male MC was undercover there and pretended to make her his to protect her. They ended up liking each other. Somehow there was a boat explosion. She thought he died. She got rescued. They meet in the present. It’s not one of those contrived now I’ve got to disappear for 2 years for some dumb reason things. It’s part of the plot.
