Ok. So I’m probably one of the few here who is ok with this format. Short films split into 1-2m parts or clips that are related to a common story but aren’t necessarily cohesive are pretty common on Douyin (Chinese version Tiktok).
Was a surprise to see the story format on Youtube. Since Youtube does have shorts like Tiktok now, Artop probably wanted to experiment with that. They won’t know if something new for the platform will be successful unless they try it. So good on them for trying something new.
I’m personally enjoying the clips as they get released. They’re like my shot of sweet, cute and funny during study breaks. Works great tbh lol.
Appears like each story will tackle different social issues in their own ways. I thought the series would just be light/fluffy teen dramas, but it's proving to have a lot more depth than I expected.
Cinderella deals with income inequalities. Snow White deals with bullying, self-esteem and beauty standards.
Initially, I was just gonna watch Cinderella. But after seeing what they did with that one and how it ended, I'm hopeful and excited to see what they do with the rest of the stories.
Thai period dramas are generally not my thing, but I started watching this one to support it having a gay character. I'm actually enjoying this a lot. The characters are so much more with the times.
In a typical period drama, I'd expect Yang to hate his brother either because his mom wants him to be the leader or because his crush is being matched with Thian. That isn't happening here at all. The brothers love and support each other no matter what. Yang said to his mom that if Thian's secret brought down the guild, he believes Thian would be able to build the guild back up and that he would stand by his brother's side.
So many favs in one movie. Goy needs to have the cast on her show. I especially want to see her ribbing Ink for leaving her behind in that one scene hahahaha.
Ep1 is great so far. Anyone with reservations should really try out the first episode once subs are available.
Thian and Yang are so precious. There’s so much in this drama that deals with not judging people and not being what people/society expects them to be. Not just about being gay. Like the mistress who is more kind and understanding towards Thian than his own mom. The son of the second mistress who adores his brother and doesn’t want power and status like his mom. The son of the main wife who risks his own life to protect his half brother.
It's sad seeing Thian’s mom hurt him, because she thinks she's doing what's best for him.
In order for Thian to become the leader, he has to be married and have a son. That's where Camilla's character comes in.
If they don't throw ML under the bus, this story has the potential to be great and a first for the genre.
This b-tch! Seems like they're really not going to give her a backstory. The smack is coming up, and I must intently watch how Earnearn takes it. 😂
From the preview, anyone still hating on Phuu will probably forgive him. Glad his assistant is coming around, too.
Cin's aunt had the best character development. 👏👏👏
Snow and Beauty showed up this episode. OF COURSEEE, Beauty is a beauty vlogger. Will be interesting to see her part. Should be fun if they don't go too heavy on the drama.
Would it be fair to say that this show is more in the style of a typical Thai lakorn that happens to have two…
It's a type of Thai lakorn genre similar to another drama Tongtong was in, "Sai Rak Sai Sawat". A period drama with an older and younger generation. The older generation is usually A LOT of drama and the younger generation is dealing with trying to be their own person while also trying to respect their parents' wishes for them. The dynamic is already hard for the straight characters, I can only imagine it being harder on a gay character.
This is a first that this genre has a gay character that I'm aware of, so I'm giving it a go. I'll probably skip the parents' generation though and try to glean what happens with them through the episode highilghts.
Wanwan What happened to her and how she spiraled out of control was so heartbreaking to see. She’s gone through so much. When her dad committed suicide, she had to mourn that loss along with taking care of her little brother AND stepmom. Taking lead of a company and having to work with those vultures she calls her aunts and uncles. None of these people cared about her or Win. Whatever made her dad commit suicide, she had to take his place at a young age. Good chance that what is happening with the company now is what happened with her dad, and he decided to commit suicide to save the company for his children.
She was able to stay strong through all that, and Win was an important part of that reason. I can’t imagine how devastated she must’ve been when she found out about what happened to him. That would have made almost anyone snap and filled with some next level rage.
Three years later, and Non is still waiting for her. Poor guy.
Saras A sweetheart through and through. I couldn't be more proud of a character. She may be in jail now, but she's probably the most free she's ever been in her life. She was able to grow from her childhood abuse, her mom passing away, decided to be the bigger person and took care of her grandma in her last days.
She made a mistake in judgement (the affair) which ultimately cost someone their life. With all her inheritance, she may have ran a little longer. But after everything that happened, she decided to be brave and take responsibility.
She's always believed in all her friends. Stood by them. She won my heart the moment she said she'd risk jail to stay with May. I'm so happy Term gave her a second chance and that he'll probably wait for her.
May This girl just could never catch a break, could she? She gets conned, beaten, sexually abused, blackmailed. And then after she has gone through all that to finally have some glimmer of hope to live a normal life again, she gets murdered.
Prae Like May, girl was never meant to be happy, was she? It’s sad that Wanwan didn’t even need to go after her. As long as she wasn’t able to separate herself from her abusive family, she would have gone out in some other way or live a life like she was already dead anyway. What happened to Win would always haunt her.
Meen This girl's curse is probably being liked by people which led others to backstabbing and being envious of her. Then she ends up with satan’s spawn who only sees her as this great toy he finally won. I honestly don't see a light at the end of the tunnel for her, since she has a child with him. And Pitch is pure evil. She is not gonna be able to leave that marriage with her child.
Glasses Girl What was even her story? Was she jealous of the girls' friendship? Upset that they were sitting at a table laughing and talking while she was studying? Like bitch, you not at a library. They can talk. What's your problem?
Pal I don't think we got enough of her backstory. Things must've been pretty bad for her to want to commit suicide. She was doing drugs and having random sex. In a way, her self-destructive behavior reminded me a lot of Prae. The only difference being Prae had a strong group of friends. Pal didn't seem like she had anyone. And since that guy raped Win, there's a good chance that bad things have happened to her, too. Not to excuse her unleashing these tragic chain of events, I just wanna understand what got her to that point.
OR did she plan to have something bad happen to Win and to have Prae there all along?
I just started this, and it's so good! I'm probably going to end up finishing it tonight or at the latest, tomorrow lol.
Not sure what the IMDB rating is about. I usually rely on their ratings for non-Asian stuff, but it's been off for 2 movies that I've seen now. So maybe I'll just read the synopsis going forward and not pay too much attention to ratings. I would have missed out on this gem otherwise.
Cin and her aunt were so extra this episode. 😂 I didn't like Din at first, because I thought he was belligerent and pushy. Now I know it's because he was afraid that Cin would get taken advantage of. I'm sorry I ever doubted him. He is such a sweetheart. 😢
Phuu really redeemed himself this episode.😭 🤗 🤗 I wonder if his mom will come around or have some kind of backstory to explain why she's such a bish? Lady didn't even know his birthdate.

The writers, team and cast outdid themselves. They really took storytelling to the next level.
I had a lot of fun reading the comments here every week. The theories and anger oml haha. I’m gonna miss it.
