The rating definitely does not reflect the quality of this production. The story is very good but with some loose-ends, probably due to inexperience screenwriters. Acting, music, and cinematography are excellent and top notch. Regardless of how viewers see the ending, it is worth to watch. It is a short series and fairly fast pace. Enjoy!

This is probably the best Chinese drama I have watched in the recent years. After finished with season 1, I just couldn't wait longer. So I searched up the novel and read the whole thing in one week. I can tell you that season 1 follows the novel fairly close (except the ending). Season 2 will be just as good or better if it continues with the story line. In season 2, I really hope to see more development in the relationship between Haitang Duo Duo and Fan Xian as in the novel. Even though Fan Xian's true love is Lin Wan'er, his relationship with Duo Duo is much colorful and complex. I also like to see Xin Zhi Lei come back in season 2 as Haitang.

Great choice of Xu Kai to replace Xian Zhan for Joy of Life 2! I'll take Xu Kai over Xian Zhan every time for any kind of drama.

Even though it was a sad ending, I thought it was probably the best ending. He had to back to the present time for the timeline to match up and complete the circle of life.
