first drama i binged in a long time and lets say it was amazing from start to finish. Even if it had ended at ep 35 without the special ending, i still would have loved it. I hate sad or open ended endings in dramas. esp the one in The Heiress, but with this one I didn't mind it. I understood why the ML wanted to do that at the ending. omg what a beautiful drama, how am i going to find something else to watch now :(
at some points it seems so, i'm on ep 22 and i was enjoying the characters and tolerating her bc sometimes she's…
@Purple_Chrysanthemum I don't think i can pick this drama back up, i cant look at the FL and not be reminded of how childish her character is. It really doesn't fit with the theme of the story "icy general and witty wife". Especially after binge watching "sleepless princess". Now that FL did an amazing job portraying a character, i'm assuming, should be close to the generals wifes character. a little childish at times but very kind and playful. i dont know where i can go from that drama. huhu :(, but i am glad i dropped this drama to make time for other more worthwhile shows.
Darn this drama has my favorite actor and actress but the plot doesnt really seem all that interesting. How can there be a happy ending when the ML is already married. sigh....
I started this because I saw high reviews and because of Caesar Wu. I'm on episode 12 and the female lead just…

Did i miss something? Was the general and his lieutenant hiding the fact that they are brothers?
They’re not actually brother’s but first cousins. He explains to his wife that xinyuan is actually the eighth prince and his aunts kid. After tragedy fell on the eighth prince and his aunt, the general took xinyuan in secretly and raised him and now he’s investigating their deaths.
I almost put off watching this drama because of the comments about the ending, but I'm so glad i decided to watch it anyways. The romance and chemistry between the leads are so sweet and intense. its rare to find such amazing romance in a drama of this genre. most of the historical dramas usually have very little romance except for the glances and the hugs. but this drama really satisfies your appetite for real romance. and as for the ending, it was indeed a happy ending. couldn't have asked for a better ending. esp the narrative at end, when she said that lu zhen had always had the head of the harem, which meant that he only loved her and nobody else until he died. what more could we want from an ending other than that? lol As for them not having kids, i thought it was for the better also, bc they had to raise his nephew to be the future king, if they had had kids there would be too much of a power struggle. so I think this is probably the best ending a drama of this kind can have! omg i want to watch it again! lol
I don't understand why this drama has 56 freaking episodes. they should have ended it sooner instead of dragging it out and making it all sorts of complicated and annoying extra stuff. I really wanted to like this series bc of the main leads but this drama is so annoying, i literally wanted to pull my hair out every time there were obstacles with the main leads. i knew it had a not so happy ending, but i would have been happy if one of them died or both! I'm a huge fan of both of the main characters but besides kissing a lot, which i loved, they didn't have much chemistry. I always felt that yu wu xin loved ding yin but not the other way around. I don't know, maybe it was because I just thoroughly enjoyed "journey of flowers" before I started this, but dang it! I'm still so frustrated! I couldn't finish the last 3 eps because the plot was getting wayyyy tooo rediculous! ugh! i hate this drama!
This started out as a solid series for me, but I made the mistake of getting on the wrong ship early on! Afterwards…
i think you might have worded your sentence about the happy ending a tad bit confusing. anyways, the drama is also called "ten miles of peach blossoms" or " three lives, three loves" or something of that nature, i've heard it in different language translations lol. From my understanding of it, the story is meant to depict a love that transcends lifetimes. BQ is a nine-tailed fox, and in the story it says that nine- tailed foxes will chose the same mate forever, regardless of how many reincarnations they go through. thats the reason why BQ falls in love with ye hua everytime, hence their happy ending is inevitable, they'll always end up with each other. as for the other love stories they're just side stories to BQ and YH. but they're still interesting to watch.
Am I the only one who thinks the ending (where she lose her memory and they live happily ever after) defeats the…
I understand where you're coming from. but how i see it, is they got another chance at love. they're each others fated calamity so whether they were teacher and disciple or not they would have fallen in love, bc that was their fate. I think the ending is fitting bc she lost too much and hurt too much for the things she lost for him. therefore this was his chance to repay her and try to make up for everything that she sacrificed for him. but remember the more time her spends with her, the more he'll be damned because he'll miss her even more when she dies. his curse was that he'll never die, but she will. so either way at least she gets a happy ending, whereas he'll enjoy the sweetness of love now but will spend the rest of eternity yearning for more. i guess thats how i interpreted it, and it made me feel better lol
I saw this drama on a lot of must watch lists, but somehow i avoided because the reviews said that it had a sad ending, and I can only stand so much heartache. Well i finished it, and i must say that i thoroughly enjoyed it. I really did hate that there were so many crucial scenes that were cut, i saw them on youtube after the I finished the drama. I just couldn't understand why they would cut out such important scenes, while leaving so much of that stupid man tien girl in there. if you watch this series, you'd have to watch the uncut scenes to understand the male character. I was very surprised that i actually like every episode. Also the second male lead really got me, i usually don't fall for the second male leads but this guy really broke my heart. all in all, this drama surprised me. if you're having doubts about whether to watch it or not. i would recommend that you do. you wont regret it. btw the ending isn't bad at all.
I've seen so many drama's based on reviews and have always felt that i should return the favor by leaving reviews for others like myself, but I've always been too lazy to do so. But this time I've actually registered just so i can leave a review. hopefully it'll lead to more in the future.
I know that bad experiences have caused her outward appearance to be less pleasing to the eye, according to social norms. But it seems to have altered her mental state as well. I personally could not endure 15 mins of her acting like she has the mental capability of a 5 yr old. now correct me if I'm wrong but isn't just her appearance that changes not her maturity level? I've seen the korean version and loved it, so i decided to give this one a try because it was longer. And i love the female lead in her role in Eternal Love. But I could not stand when they pair ugly with stupid. Just because she is no longer "pretty" it shouldn't mean that she should act like that. I do not like the connotations in this story at all. it is demeaning and her acting in this role is the most annoying role I have ever seen in all of the drama's i have ever seen.and I've seen quite a lot in the past 10 years. i have never hated a character so much as to leave a review. but please do feel free to enlighten me, because I'm writing this off of 15 mins of enduing her character.
