How I understand : Jiang Xi didn't have the chance to have an easy childhood (her mom, poverty, education etc.) that made her who she is at present time (relationship with a rich AND married man, quality of relationship with her mother etc.). She's trying to make up to her childhood with this kinda life : healing her childhood with her whole life.
On the other hand, Lin Shuang has great childhood (great parents, intelligent, no poverty, etc.). She wanted to be the best at school to have a great life (job, husband etc.). At the end, she married Wei Ming, and became a housewife : shed used her childhood to heal her whole life.
