Wait isnt Xie Wei Yan Lin's cousin that was supposedly dead when he was 9 cause he posed as the crown prince ?
it was also stated that yan family tried to get their cousin from the rebels as he was taken "hostage". they had to therefore rebel and died but that is obvs prevented. so it is speculated that the lost xue son had potentially ran away and since he has dementia he forgot all the past events.
