They are gay in the novel. Liuyi is Chusan's first and only love. Liuyi has sexual trauma and is not involved with anyone else. Although Brother Qinglong was Liuyu's first love, nothing ever happened between them.

I finished it but not without a lot of FFW. I wish I would have followed BL Compilations recommendation from the reviews section. The ML's character acted so dumb it was no longer cute by the 3rd episode IMHO. 3/10, there was some decent humor and I liked the second couple. I wish they had developed way earlier, their repertoire was v good IMHO. I loved that they were both named Jun.
