Someone save this poor guy

I went to see expecting a serial killer thriller with lots of carnage and hatred, but what I got was pure depression. The script is sensational and the production impeccable, but they have no mercy on the protagonist: it's a study of suffering from beginning to end. At the beginning, the story even suggests something supernatural, but the twist to the psychological side, revealing the protagonist's dissociative identity disorder, is very well done and tragic. The main actors give a show-stopping performance and made me cry buckets, although some secondary performances leave something to be desired.
What I really didn't like was the ending implying that the protagonist took her own life. I found it unnecessary and an exaggerated drama, since his sacrifice was precisely so she could move on. For me, it would be much stronger for one to survive and carry the pain than for both to die. It's a beautiful and tragic story, but be warned: it's extremely heavy and contains serious triggers of sexual abuse, domestic violence, and graphic violence. I highly recommend it if you enjoy depressing dramas, but if you value your mental health, stay away.
