Accurate review!

Great review! I was perplexed and wondering what did I just watch? Your review summed it up well. It was a chore to complete this drama with a LOT of skipping. I could not feel or root for any character. And the secret college rush made zero sense. They drew that awkward heartache out for so long...but they were never in an actual relationship! And I agree with the other comments to your review, it did feel like propaganda pushing China's industries. This was a very odd idol romance drama.

One of the later flashback episodes explains how Ding Qi entered the loop. When Professor Jiang Yu Wen faked his death with the lab explosion/fire, he had injected himself with the RAN, then poured the rest down the sink...it showed the substance flowing into the drain outpour into the lake. The same lake that Ding Qi fell into and drowned after getting beat up on the pier. That's how he got infected. His drowning incident was when he first entered the loop.

You summed up my thoughts perfectly on this drama. I was struggling to figure out how exactly to articulate it and rate this drama. I did not hate it, but I did not love it either.

I just finished the series. And I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed the hair coloring. Chu Qiao's hair definitely seemed so odd and out of place in a period drama.

Thank you for this! Since I'll never be able to read the novel (I can't read Chinese). But at least the novel part 2 helps to alleviate the unsettling feeling after the end of the show series. Doubt they'll do a season 2 at this point since its been so long.
