No this is not melodramatic. It is a fun show with a fun cast. Emotional sometimes. This show makes me cry because it is very real. I have grown attached to the characters. And it is making me sad to see this end. I think same for others also.

Wow this drama is so so good. The writing, acting, music they are all amazing.

I finished it but did not like it. The romance did not build up well enough. There were a lot of things that were unexplained so I did not enjoy it.

Japan does slice of life best. There are too many beautiful slice of life dramas that Japan has done excellently. I will recommend more if you like these.

This was absolutely fantastic. Some of the best acting I've seen for a 35 year old who has to play a 10 year old. The mother who is one of the best Japanese actresses ever was brilliant.
The ratings for Japanese dramas on this site needs to be reviewed. How is this anything less than an 8.5 boggles my mind.

I saw my brother watching this and it brought back memories.

Sorry for barging in but yes I thought it was racist too. I am Japanese but I lived in Mumbai for 3 years so I have an understanding of the Indian culture and people.

I dont remember the details but they mocked the food eaten by Indians (naan), and the practices of hindu monks living in temples. I saw my brother watching this so I came here to check out what people thought. Sadly very few acknowledge the racism.
