The more you rewatch the drama, the more details you get!
Like when Dongfang Qingcang built the Shiming Temple for Xiao Lanhua in Cangyang Sea, he flicked his finger to turn on the sky, it was clearly shown that he wore his jade ring. Seeing how happy Xiao Lanhua, he silently took off the ring, it was not shown in the drama, but when Xiao Lanhua learned that the shiming temple was just imitation, she felt unhappy, DongFang Qincang felt what she felt and got mad. It was shown in the scene where he squeezed the jade ring hard in his palm. So he actually knew clearly what she felt and thought.
Will Iqiyi and youku sub it to english and other language for international fans? A Dylan Wang Fan account said that it will only be available on youku and iqiyi chinese version only😭
Got amazed by what Dylan Wang said of his favourite scene of Canglanjue, it's "I'm back!" of the finale episode. Apparently, it's different from the other "I'm back!" of the earlier episode where they just arrived at Cangyan Sea. The different was in the finale episode, DFQC said "I'm back!" As he himself, literally "I'm back!" just as DFQC himself, the lover of Xiao Lanhua, without his title as the Moon Supreme, while in the earlier episode, he said "I'm back!" as The highly Moon Supreme and mention himself as benzoa(?).
I am amazed of how thorough and deep he understood his role DFQC! And now i know why Dylan Wang's DFQC is so Iconic!!
This is my first chinese drama that I follow on going after I encountered Dongfang Qingcang (LBFAD is my first ever CDrama). While waiting for it to air, I watched Dylan's past dramas, and I can say his acting becomes so much richer and more versatile in every drama, start from Meteor Garden, Evernight 2 and so on. While DFQC is his most iconic role, Xiao Duo is his richest character with so many layers and I can say he gave XD justice. XD is much more than badass and cool domineering character, he is also the softest sweetheart, the most romantic lover, the best friend and the best leader for his men, cunning, smart yet silly sometimes, etc. so many layers of his characters yet Dylan played them all very well. I can't sense any DFQC left in him beside the badass and domineering side.
I really enjoyed this drama, its story is fresh and unique, the acting skills of most main actors are superb and supporting roles are great too (except Tongyun). I love how it was directed, fighting scenes are awesome and the drama set is beautiful. Even the ship set when they went to west shu is beautiful too.
But this drama has its flaws too. The flow of the story is sometimes choppy due to censorship, FL charachter is sometimes unconsistent, a few scene doesnt make sense, but it's drama anyway... the murder of XD brother plot is overused, they should make Prince Nanyuan the real culprit and Bu Yu Lu still be the traitor IMO.
The ending felt unreal since it was just it, they just showed the CP escaped together. They didnt give us any extended scene to show that they really live happily ever after! BUT, I think the drama did not really have to tell us about that moment, it already showed how it ends, not properly, but they showed us. The main protagonists got what they want freedom, free to be with whoever they want to be. The villains got what they deserved. Murong Gaogong was showed falling down to the ground, its his falling. They stopped it there. It wouldve been better if there was a naration of what happened to him, but no. But they showed us how he got his karma. He got badly injured thus he can have any child! He became eunuch himself literally. And he was slowly being crazy and lost his mind, mentally sick. And the kingdom would never accept that kind of King. They didnt show us, but it was implied. So, tho I want more for the ending, but the drama said just it. They already gave us the closure, dont asked more since it will need more effort, more episodes lol.
As for romance, tho it was cut every here and there, but I assure you, just by looking at XD lustfull gaze, you'll get to know that they're quite wild couple, lol. And IMO, even with all of those cut, their chemistry is still on fire!

Actually those deleted scenes were shared by the production team on Weibo and even IQIYI shared the bts of deleted scenes too. It was intentional. IMO, maybe the production team felt those deleted scene are too valuable and would be a waste if just being kept in their dungeon, since they and the actors had worked super hard to produce them, but Censorship regulation cut it cruelly. Maybe they thought that people should know how the drama supposed to be told but they couldnt show it to us since it was cut and their masterpiece became choppy. The production team just would not give up of the censorship regulation. If they can't showed it properly, they will showed it with other platform that didnt violate the rules.

I spoil you something about the romance. XD and BYL is quite wild couple. The scenes were cut, but the hints were too clear! They just make your imagination wilder. Nothing is platonic, lol
Let's use our imagination, he was dethroned and went down in history as the most coward, pathetic, and tyrant Emperor ever, His condition was even more pathetic, his body was paralyzed and his mind was crazy, mental illness due to BYL death. He then died in vain. The only Murong left was Hede Diji, then she took over the kingdom, became The Queen Regent and married Liang Xu since he was her savior back then so people accepted him, lol. It' just my imagination🤣
They couldn't even give us this. Now I have to go and stitch it to the episode myself 🙄
