A really good angsty fanfic
I'm glad I ignored all the hate this series got in the comments, because I really enjoyed it. I love a good angsty fanfic that makes me cry, and I felt like this ticked all the boxes for the same type of experience. Is it great art? No. Is it full of toxic relationship stuff? Yes. Is it unrealistic? Yes. Did I love every minute of it? Also yes.
I don't watch tv shows for guidance on what to look for in a romantic partner, and if you do you're looking in the wrong place. I watch shows to be entertained and, sometimes, that means having my emotions jerked around. Sometimes that means having characters who behave in unhealthy ways, especially if it gives them room to grow.
I've watched a fair number of BL series, and I enjoyed this more than most. If you come into this one looking for A Tale of Thousand Stars, you'll be disappointed. If you come into it looking for nc scenes, you'll also be disappointed. But if you come into it looking for a whole lot of chemistry, and a whole lot of tears (both yours and the characters'), you'll probably find what you're looking for.
