I just finished it… well, the scenery and production was really great. if I ever to rewatch it - it would only be for those amazing nature shots. But after episode 30 or so, it got boring for me - so much was happening it started to get all over the place for me. As usual, the ending felt very rushed. I’m really curious to read the novel after watching it, cause I was left with a feeling, that a lot of important details were missing.
overall, it feels like the same story but in a different font. I still prefer Princess Agents. And some of the acting was imho questionable but I get where they are coming from.
i really don't think cfy was a good choice for this role and this drama. he's a ok actor and i do liked him a…
I know what you’re talking about. I really liked his character in the Love Story in 70s - I think he nailed it but here - I didn’t get the same feeling.
wow, this is such a beautiful piece. The atmosphere and production are incredible! I think it’s the best one I’ve watched in 2025, I’m gonna miss this story so much. In comparison with other dramas, it was so full of life. Great work!
Unpopular opinion: Shadow Love is far superior in terms of screenplay and acting than Legend of the Female General.…
Shadow Love is wuxia, so they are two different genres, therefore it wouldn’t be a proper comparison in my opinion. I’ll check Shadow Love next, thanks!
Indeed. Jing is quite frustrating, He promises to do this & that but fails to do so. He's remains pitifully clingy…
agreed. But I was also very confused with Xiao Yao’s choices over and over again, cause she was saying one thing and then acting completely different. As in “I will never rely on a man”… well we saw how that turned out in season 2. After watching it, I feel like everyone but Xiang Liu acted like a kid at some point.
production & actors did a great job here BUT characters are so badly written (I hope it’s better in the novel itself). The only mature and consistent character throughout two seasons was Xiang Liu.
Their actions contradicted their own words and beliefs and were so annoyingly irrational at some points, that I started skipping scenes.
Honestly, I don’t get her love choice. Tushan Jing was just annoying imho. This is not how person who’s used to being by herself & never being able to rely on anyone, acts… at least not how I would imagine it.
Was hesitant to watch this drama cause didn’t like ML’s character in the Rise on Ning (not the character itself but rather his portrayal), but this drama didn’t disappoint - I really enjoyed it, main lead’s chemistry was amazing.
This also made me wanna rewatch the Pearl Girl.
