idk who you mean by folks but ik it’s not kimchay shippers. if u ask anyone who is invested in this couple they will tell u they don’t want their story to be rushed and ruined since there’s only 4 ep left. we don’t want them to be together until chay confronts kim about using him for info about his dear brother and if he actually ever loved him and i would dare to say kim does in fact love chay. when they first interacted kim maybe wasn’t as interested in chay in the same way chay is interested in him. but their moments in ep 5 u can clearly see that kim is starting to notice chay and might argue that he was catching feelings. but since he had clear goal in mind once he confirmed that chay doesn’t know anything about what his brother is doing he decided to leave but to his surprise when chay asked him to listen to his song he indeed stayed and even started playing with him. in ep 7 when he visited his house and found his fanboy shrine he could’ve left once he found nothing useful but he stayed and ate with chay. and even asked him to write a love song and have me be the first one to listen to it when he knows that chay does have a crush on him. ep 8 when he started to avoid chay cuz he found himself sidetracking from his main mission in mind. but then chay came to his apartment and played the love song kim asked him to write nd be the first to listen. chay did as he was told and kim just stood there probably conflicted about his feeling. ep 9 is where chay confessed cuz he promised himself he would once he gets in the department he wanted but what does kim do? he kiss him mid confession cuz he confirmed he likes chay for real. now we just wait and see how they will make chay knows about kim and how he will react and where there relationship is headed to

imo i think it’s cuz it’s unfair to chay? kim knew better to not say it back to him cuz he isn’t honest with him? chay still doesn’t know the real reason why kim approached him in the first place and that kim was using him to get info about porsche. so kim saying ily back will hurt chay even more once he finds out all of this. also once kim knew he loved chay he wanted to leave before it’s too late. he knows better that anyone that chay deserves more than what kim is doing rn. anyways everyone have different opinions and different way of viewing things but this is mine
